Actually just looked it up. The Movies yes did come out in the same year, but the filming of the movies; Mean Girls: September – November of 2003. The NoteBook: November 7 of 2002 and February of 2003. Then the Movies were Released; Mean Girls: April and The Notebook was first a Film Festival of May and then in theaters June. The reason for the blond wig was because she did not wish to bleach her entire head. The front section was bleached so probably the bangs rest is wig. The more you learn
