the reason why I wanted to create rare
beauty is I wanted to challenge the
makeup space I wanted to create a whole
Lane in the makeup world that was also
centered around mental health and also
equally just shared The Compassion we
have for people who just want to have
fun with makeup I didn’t want anyone to
feel like they need it it’s more so just
something that I’ve always had a you
know passion for it’s my job and I love
it so it’s been really really fun the
name rare took a while to get but I knew
it had to be called that because I
believe that each and every one of us

talked about it but I gotten some tags
on this I guess breaking news of Selena
Gomez but you know so we’ll talk about
it but I’m pretty sure I already made
this video a while ago so I don’t know
if I’m too ahead of the tea or what’s
happening maybe I’m mistaken but um rare
Beauty best friend has uh I guess
officially been valuated at 2 billion in
less than 5 years of its launch Forbes
report um it would possibly represent
the fastest tra tragic tragic girl
trajectory tra tra tragectory trajectory
girl I don’t know trajectory from
zero to a multi-billion exit in the
history of the beauty
industry so there is no um there is no
denying that she hit the she hit gold I
mean she struck gold with rare Beauty
the reason for rare Beauty to be so
incredibly successful it’s because of
Selena Gomez herself I definitely feel
very humbled by the success of rare but
I think the most important thing from
the beginning of me wanting to create
this brand was to have positive impact
in the beauty space to create a brand
that was just allowing you to embrace
who you are and not necessarily leading
people to look a certain way to reach
Perfection and every single celebrity
out there that has any type of makeup
brand should literally copy and paste
everything Selena Gomez is doing if they
want to be successful as well the way
Selena Gomez has won over the audience
the public the the Skeptics is because
of the message behind rare Beauty rare
Beauty has such a beautiful and rare
message that is a message of loving
yourself of accepting yourself of
understanding that you are a rare beauty
that you are beautiful in your own way
that you know everyone is different and
that is a beautiful thing and it’s not
just aimed to one person the the photos
shoots the promotion is not her in a
thong in a beach you know it’s real
people it’s it’s it’s a beautiful
message behind everything and that is
why it’s so
incredibly um uh successful I spoke to
um I spoke to somebody recently on um uh
about rare Beauty they work at Sephora
actually I spoke to two people who work
at Sephora one that works here in Los
Angeles in Sephora and somebody else
that works in Portugal in Sephora and
both of them told me that rare beauty is
their most sold product okay um I think
that the way that Selena Gomez connects
with her audience the way that she takes
the time to uh to to show her gratitude
to show her love for her audience and to
be so present in her brand that is why
it is so
successful oh hello friends come on in
welcome to my office at rare Beauty I
want to start with this this is our open
letter from the New York Times that I
got to write which is like one of the
coolest things that I’ve ever done this
way we have beautiful mirrors because
every girl needs to check their fit make
sure they look cute and then we have a
couch area which people love to just
chill this is where I usually kind of
sit instead of my my desk cuz it’s more
cozy and I have all my products here so
I get to see all the hard work that
we’ve done back here this is where I do
any sort of like phone calls and stuff
and I’ve got all my notes and everything
that I need it looks very clean now
because we’re giving you a tour but this
is where I also do some of my videos so
now this is where you’ll be seeing me do
my fun little Tik toks it’s just come
together so nicely I’m so proud of it
it’s my new home and it’s just the best
dealing I’m so glad you guys got to see
it and no one else has what she has
because even though her company is worth
two billion do she still has that spark
in her eye like she did when it first
launched she is not taking her success
for granted she is not pretending she is
better than nobody and she is not um you
know putting herself on no high horse
okay because when people when people get
the uh the the status honey they change
real quick when people get the
status girl they think that they’re
above everybody else and that’s just not
how it is you know what I mean so I love
the fact that SEL Gomez has brought
herself into this place of human first
and business person second and I think
that rare beauty is going to go down in
history of being the most successful
makeup brand because of Selena Gomez and
if she continues this way this this
makeup brand this this brand is going to
grow and it’s going to be you know $10
billion you know and it could basically
make her one of the richest people in
the world and if she continues with her
message if she continues with the rare
Beauty impact fund if she continues just
being herself I mean it’s going to just
continue to grow and I would say that a
lot of these people with makeup brands
they just don’t know how to do it best
friend because they think that a sexy
photo shoot and you know a viral trend
is is is going to bring them longev ity
it might bring them some viral moments
but it’s not going to bring them
longevity because we are so quick to
forget things that in a month we’re not
going to remember that cuz the all the
beach photo shoots are just going to
look the same you know so I definitely
feel like the way that Selena Gomez is
doing it should be the way that all of
these other celebrities do it you know
we never hear other other celebrities
with Brands talk about you know giving
back talk about you know working with
certain organizations and if they have
maybe they’ve talked about it once or
twice but not as much as Selena Gomez
you know there is message behind it
after everything we went through in 2020
and 2021 all
that I believe that a lot of us want
more human interaction we want more of a
a a humility more than we want people
that think that they’re above and better
than anybody
so if all of these celebrities are smart
they’re going to start caring for Their
audience I know for a fact that there’s
so many famous people and celebrities
out there that put their name on
something and they just you know make
posts on their on their stories or on
their Instagram to connect with their
audience when they have a new launch
coming out okay and that is the main
main issue because the public is not
stupid okay that’s why everyone is
turning on Kylie Jenner cuz they’re like
you lit literally only are active on
social media when you’re promoting a
brand that’s why the Kardashians are
getting cancelled because their whole
reality show has turned into the same
two dramas and an infomercial for all of
their businesses so if you treat your
audience as dollar signs it’s not going
to bring you longevity it’s going to
bring you some quick cash but what would
you rather have like a a steady stream
of income or some quick cash because of
some viral moments so I love the way
that Selena Gomez is doing it and you
know I’ve spoken to people that just use
rare Beauty as Foundation skin care
whatever you name it they’ve used it and
they all tell me that not only is the
product amazing it’s affordable it’s
long lasting and they love the messages
behind it so that is why rare beauty is
valued at $2 billion and that is why
it’s going to continue to grow and I
really do hope that if it’s true that
Selena Gomez is is selling I hope and
pray that the people that she is selling
to won’t change the brand because that
is the that’s going to be a huge issue
Selena Gomez is the heart I obviously
understand that she’s only one person
and she has so many businesses that she
is the face of the creator of the you
know the the name behind it so I’m sure
it can get very very tiring of having to
make all these decisions all of these
meetings you know all of these things
um so I obviously understand why she
would want to you know have a little bit
of that load off but I just hope that
the people she is selling to if she is I
hope that they are going to continue
with Selena Gomez’s main main vision and
and love for the company and and that
you know meaningful message behind it so
