[Music] hello everybody my name is luk mAh and this is hotl mode and today on hotland mode we are coming to you with your met Galla part 2 fashion roast and review we have a lot of looks to go through we have a lot of looks we didn’t get to talk about in part one I saw your comments you were very upset where’s the lady with the moving dress where is aahot where is nck Minaj where are all the people don’t worry this video will handle that am I wearing a black T-shirt and a pair of shorts absolutely I am tired if the girls aren’t going to try neither am I also I will say I did have like a few different little moments to wear but upon the weather quickly shifting in New York it’s now so brutally hot that I can’t actually wear any of the things even with the AC on cuz it’s still so hot maybe in the next video we will see one of those moments say what you want in the comments whoever called me Peter RAB in the last video that was a good one I appreciated that and somebody else said something about loose buttons and I agree I read the comments don’t you worry so let’s get into this review and we’re going to start with one of the most called for people to talk about Aaliyah bot now aiyah bot is an Indian actress I like leab bot people were like you don’t cover her actually I do I covered her last year as well and now she is wearing the designer Sabia Sachi which is one of the bigger Indian Brands I would say probably one of the biggest I have to say I do think she looks really really beautiful I think a lot of the looks in this video in particular people really do look rather stunning it’s just we’re trying to decipher whether or not they actually hit the theme or reference the costume Institute as you can see she’s wearing this gorgeous sari and it’s kind of like a icy light blue but there is multiple multiple multiple floral embroideries and Crystal fringes all flowing out throughout the sari and the train and all that jazz as well as on the crop top area so now whether or not this actually gets into the theme I think is up to all of you because as what Sabi aacei referenced as the garden of time theming for the look is quote as the Galloping horde of mechanization modernization and uniformity March ever closer it is craft that embodiment of human touch tradition and diversity that will safeguard culture from the passage of time which is a reference to the JG Ballard short story about the fact that the horde would come and take over this beautiful Villa and all that jazz I do like the idea of The Horde being a representation of like Automation and industrialization and losing this idea of beautiful craft in India which is embroidery and stunning works and we can see here it’s a really really beautiful look will I say that I completely believe the storyline here I don’t like disbelieve it I’m not completely sold on it either I think she looks really pretty she’s wearing a floral I would love love to see whether or not there actually is like referencing back to maybe ancient maybe 5 centuries ago maybe three centuries ago maybe two maybe one century ago embroidery that was done in India I think that would have been really cool and really interesting to sort of tie this all up as actual having references to that idea of the craft and where it is and where it comes from and how it can continue and so if that exists and I haven’t seen it to each but overall she looks really nice she’s Flowers Garden of time we have to approve next up we have Amanda safe Reed and she is wearing Prada now this is a custom look but it is based on a spring 2009 product collection it’s that collection where everything is wrinkling and there are a lot of these metallicy Fabrics Amanda safreed said that she wanted to have a dress that was actually made out of material that was already created she didn’t want to have to have you know new material created so PR did use deadstock fabric in order to make this dress in particular and then it’s covered in these pink and white crystal flowers listen I crystal flower garden of time story Shore I also think it’s interesting to use fabric that was from an old product collection this idea of dead stock it was what I was talking about when I was saying about the Gap dine Joy Randolph is that I wish we’d seen more like deadstock fabric I think that would be an interesting way tie in time and so listen like is it the most radical amazing wonderful experience no it isn’t I do think that the FL flowers are most definitely made out of crystals so crystal flowers I get it the silver the dead stock the idea of sustainability the idea of Reawakening things sure you know it’s okay we’ll take it next up we have Amelia Hamlin now Amelia is wearing undercover and I know people are going to be like what is that that’s so stupid this cocktail dress is actually rather amazing I still think it’s one of the great fashion moments of the 2020s and I don’t mean just on Amelia Amelia is helping most definitely but I saw this Runway from undercover actually in person it was really quite amazing to see so this dress is obviously covered in yellow shiffon and what we can see underneath is some sort of bubble skirt that has a clear coating but what we can see underneath is obviously this dress is a yellow cocktail dress but there is this sort of extended skirt that sits over top of it and inside of this plastic skirt is a bunch of purple roses there are stems there are leaves there are the purple roses and those purple roses are encased in this plastic for what seems like forever now I know people going be like this is stupid but not only is the flower element there this idea of capturing something in time in the plastic plastic never really breaks down like sure I get that but what I will also say is on the cover of the Sleeping Beauties book cuz they do a catalog of the exhibit every year is a similar dress by undercover from the same collection and in the actual exhibit they feature one of these dress dresses it was really really nice to see I like the fact that Amelia is actually wearing a dress that is featured in the exhibit I think it’s smart I think it makes sense I also think it’s a cool dress in general this idea of trapping and this idea of garden being there it’s just stuck in time it will never sort of change yeah I like it I thought it was nice approved next up we have Ashley Graham and she is wearing Ludovic Des sensor nin now listen what I’m going to say is I think she looks stunning I think it’s a really good dress I think it fits well think the idea of the chain mail and the leather actually work quite well together even the neckline it all moves it all grooves I think she really does look stunning what I’ll say is the silver chain mail flowers on it like Garden of time that’s all we’re going to get out of it kind of disappointing not really super jazzed and or exciting I would have loved this idea of maybe even just I don’t know an applique of chain mail flowers or something I just I think that would have at least jazzed up a little bit more but when I look at the dress when I look at the waist when I look at the bust when I look at even the the straps around the neck like she does look really hot she looks really good but theming wise lazy next up we have IO ad Dee and she is wearing L I don’t know if this is like a hot take but I didn’t like this guess what I’ll say is I didn’t really like the fit of the dress the concept is fine I think it works I think this idea of like the white bleach kind of flowers in a goo lace at the top of the neck and then slowly moves down and around right below the waist we start to see the colors subtly come back and then as we hit around the knee they just flood into full color I get it I think with like the Dan Levy thing when we saw from the L look in the first video it all makes sense and I understand it and the garden of time and all that sort of stuff and I don’t completely hate the concept again I think it’s a little bit it’s much more I would say UNC concept than a lot of people something about the fit of the dress from the front I don’t really understand cuz like if we can see right where the bus line is on the side sort of juts out like that and I don’t think the waist really does much Justice either again I understand that like it’s a a lace applique over top there’s something about the dress that I think is tough especially for like a young person to make it feel young I can’t tell if it’s cuz it’s floral or it’s the white or I don’t know what it is but something about it makes it read as a much older dress and I don’t mean that in the sense of like time I mean in the sense of audience then it should on iO and that I think is the part that’s disappointing to me from the back it’s okay it’s fine you know again like little white sort of dangle strap but overall next up we have Barry Kean and he is wearing berbery and I would say that this is one of the better men’s moments I will say our next video is going to focus heavily on the men specifically the men that suck so get ready for that one but Barry is not in that camp I love this three-piece suit in brown velvet love the neck the little shirt the wrap the Jabo it’s a really cool really really cool reference we should start to bring them back I was going to say that the neck area was probably late 19th centuy so late 1800s I don’t think it is I think it’s very very early 1800s like around 1800 maybe into like the 1820s maybe into the 1840s at most but like around the 18 to 1820 Mark again men’s were experts I apologize in advance if I’m not totally correct but I like that neckline I think it’s interesting I think it’s cool bow that flows out from the top of that shirt is frayed so like time deterioration it’s really subtle but I’m going to take it I do wish a little bit more of the suit was afraid to be completely honest if I’m being nitpicky and annoying I think it just would have added just a tiny little bit but berbery is a men’s wear brand of the Dapper aristocracy of the UK originally so I do think the Barry sort of laying into that really early berbery sort of History although Burber came around I think early 1900s but I like the idea of going back and looking at like gentlemanly clothing I think it’s smart I think it works I think it’s onand brand good moment for Barry good moment for burb I would have liked to see more of that all right Next Up R Larson okay so this one’s really really hard because like as soon as I saw it I thought oh girl no help yourself help me help you you’re wearing a tent and so let’s discuss now I’m pretty positive that breeze look is based on a few different Prada references and again what I’ll say with Prada specifically is it’s a brand that likes to go back like a weird amount of years and reference itself and then like modernize it so in the Sleeping Beauty Reawakening fashion element of looking at past pieces mua loves to do that so like she’s an icon I can’t be super duper mad at her but there is a look from the Spring 2007 collection that actually does have this sort of gradient ombre of like a lilac into an orange and so when we look at the cocktail dress underneath it’s orange we can see that the tent over top is lilac so product reference sure what I’ll also say though is if we look at the most recent product collection we can see that there are these sort of interesting seams that run along the skirts and they do create a very sort of square silhouette and I don’t just mean that in the sense of like they look like little squares but rather like they fall almost like rectangles I think that’s also maybe possibly something to do with it but when I really really look at it I’m pretty positive Bri and pra were sort of looking at her almost as like an hourglass of sorts and I say say that because when we look at the fact that this dress does sort of create that little hourglass shape yeah time if you look at the embellishments on this dress when they hit the waist they start to get really really sort of thick and then as they get down to the waist it’s almost like they’re sitting on top of each other and then they just abruptly stop and I kind of wondered if that was almost like the sand in an hour glass moving down underneath and in the middle section the waist of an hourglass listen I’m trying here I’m trying to help I will say if you’re legless and she looks dumb I’m not going to tell you that I disagree completely what I will say is you know I want to try to find something to to understand it and I do think that Prada is always very heady it’s thinking ahead usually I see both sides I do also understand that somebody’s going to comment and going to be like wow you’re really trying to explain like the stupidest things to us to make it seem like it’s and like sure but also I understand where you’re coming from next we Camila Cabo and she is also wearing ludic Des sunin she is also wearing a chain mail dress it’s sparkly it’s glittery it has the sort of little corset lacing up the front it’s a nice little sort of neckline and then I will say I do like the idea of the tattered chain mail it almost looks like it had like scissors poked through it a bunch of times and it’s falling and it’s deteriorated like I think that’s smart I think it’s good again like not so wildly amazing but a little bit more looking at time and the way that clothing degrades over time than most of the looks that we’ve seen But the part that really was interesting about Camilla’s look is the fact that she is carrying not a bag but like technically a bag it’s a block of ice with a chain and a copper Rose inside which listen my Camp Queen she she’s work she was working for it bag is actually by the brand called Jane Wade and so what they did is they froze this Copper Rose with a chain in ice and so as Camila would walk up the mat steps slowly the ice would melt and she would just left with the rose I kind of love that idea I do I think like obviously it’s dumb and it’s annoying but I do think that when we go into the actual exhibit there is a l look where they custom made that look for the exhibit specifically it’s based on a Runway look the first day that we were there we were like oh the grass seat it’s so beautiful it’s so green it’s so lovely but as the exhibit goes on it will die the grass on it will die and it will change the Garment for forever like it will never be the same because all the grass seed is dead this idea of clothing deteriorating or accessories deteriorating over time and changing form indefinitely I do think is smart I think it’s on theme at least of the exhibit partially The Garden of time as well I like it look at me being nice K so sweet next up we have Camila Mendes and she is wearing Al to Zara I I don’t like it at all I don’t understand the Frills in the front I understand the rose up top sure great but like also beige sequins beige SE sequence are so boring so uninteresting so gross and sad I just like I don’t get where the fun was where is the excitement where is the joy where is the anything cuz I don’t see it I don’t think it’s here Cara deine Stella mcartney I hate it I hate it so I just think it’s so stupid a sleeveless Hood crop top thing made out of crystals just because it’s a crystal and you’re referencing like the crystal flowers of the story no like I don’t think I have to accept it at least with like Amanda sa it was like flowers made out of little crystals we could have made this whole top into like the shapes of little flowers with the crystals and I’d be like okay I guess I have to accept it but no I don’t have to accept just crystals and then a high-waisted white skirt maybe the rooing in the skirt is a reference to late 19th century dress which the count and the count test do dress in in the story there’s not really anything here that I’m going to sit and say so wonderful you did it Cara you did it St it no it’s la it’s boring it’s uninteresting it’s monotonous it’s stupid you look dumb next up we have Charlie XCX this I like this I think plays into the whole theme it plays into the idea now from what I read by Charlie xdx and Marne is they wanted to look at the idea of a t-shirt like a t-shirt that is well worn that is well- loved and how over time it will develop holes and tears and rips and still people want to wear that shirt because they have a real fondness for it and a real love for it even though it’s falling apart that I think is a story that most of us can definitely relate to in some way I mean I have clothes that I still don’t want to get rid of and they’re torn to [ __ ] I think that is a good way to play into the theme and the idea and the exhibit I will say not only is it covered in the holes and things but it does have these little bugle beads in silver that are embroidered all over it which I think is supposed to help emphasize the holes or emphasize the idea of the tearing and the ripping and the staining and things like that I don’t know exact ly how they do that but I think that’s what they’re trying to do I do love the off theh shoulder strap and the way that it’s torn it’s ripped like I just think this is a good way of going about it I think it was smart I think it paid off I think that she looks good the clothing is degrading and I don’t mean that in the way of like it’s degrading to have worn it I mean the clothing itself is degrading over time because that is the theme I think that Charlie nailed it without having to do too too much and I also appreciate that even in like interviews she said like this is the only time that you’re supposed to really dress like this is the time that you really should think about your outfit what you want to wear and what you want to do and play into the theme like that’s the point of this we appreciate you Legend next up is Coleman Domingo and I’m going to be honest I love Coleman Domingo this look not my favorite to be completely Frank and fair it’s by Willie chavaria it’s a double breasted soup jacket with a cape attached in these wide like pants and on the lapel of the jacket we kind of see that there is a fabric flower draped it does look like a callalily and then when we see that Coleman is actually carrying a bouquet of cailes as well it plays into what he was trying to do which I actually think is rather sweet Coleman was dedicating and referencing two men that wore capes on the Met Gala steps previously one of them was Andre Leon tally who was past a legend and icon king of capes but the other one was Chadwick Boseman and that one really hit me in the fs cuz Chadwick when he wore this white verace I believe Cape it was his last me Gala and he sadly away and I was very sad and it was also like oh wow somebody really dressed up somebody really they went there and so I like that Coleman was paying homage to Legends on the carpets I also think that with the flower it plays in tug on my heartstrings just a little bit and so I will accept colan In This Moment next up we have Demi Moore and she is wearing Harris Reed and this is actually a dress fully made out of wallpaper and I always say this when I talk about this Harris Reed collection in particular never should a designer be happy their clothing is being compared to wallpaper except in this moment this dress is actually a collaboration with fantle which is a very upscale Wallpaper Maker they worked with Harris Reed to create this really stunning beautiful exaggerated hip Wing like floral style it is rather sweet and lovely these beautiful pink flowers just dance around the dress the silhouette is kind of crazy and as for little spikes I don’t really know what that has to do with anything but really interesting and it does look really exciting and it’s a cool shape and it’s different for Demi Moore I think that it perfectly frames the face do I think that the garden of time and things like that is really Incorporated no I think there’s a flower on it and so like we can approve it I guess I will say in the actual exhibit it was interesting to see that there were a lot of designers whose work had unconventional materials unconventional techniques unconventional everything and how they put together these garments and how overtime those garments changed because the fabric or the material wasn’t always supposed to be in this format I would have maybe like to see a little bit more of that but also I think with this Demi Mo look it’s going to be on theme in about 50 years that’s when I really think it’s going to be in its moment in 50 years when this dress is falling apart tearing up then I’ll say wow tell me more she really hit it next up we have Dove Cameron and she is wearing Diesel and I think this is a pretty good moment of you know both time Garden combined do is wearing this full length gown it’s diesel it’s based on not the most recent diesel collection but I believe the spring 2024 diesel collection beige sheer dress for the most part that is covered in what looks like little tatters and tears of floral fabric the thing that I think is really smart about this is Glenn wens who’s the diesel designer did do and does do quite a lot of degration and clothing changing and shifting and moving and treatments and things like that which I think played a lot into the actual exhibit I know that I’ve said that at nauseum at this point but I don’t think people really understand the exhibit until they actually go see it or they read the book because that really was what it was about looking at the way that clothing changed because of techniques and materials and things and so I think that Glenn just taking a piece from a recent collection that happened to play into the garden of Time theme and the exhibit it was smart there wasn’t really much else he needed to do I think that Dove also looks rather stunning I love the tatter I love the tear I love the way that it looks like this dress is falling apart in front of us not only is it floral not only is it ripped to [ __ ] it just looks Chic it fits the vibe and the aesthetic of a Gala and a gown this is good it’s easy it’s understandable I get it I like it proud next up we have Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union and they are wearing Michael Kors let’s talk about Dwayne first the purple suit okay the shirt interesting any other red carpet i’ be like oh I really like this on Dwayne I think this is really interesting I think it fits in well I think it makes sense in this context Dwayne blah boring uninteresting not proud not happy you’re better than this I know you not personally but I know that you normally can dress a lot more intriguingly now as for Gabrielle Union this fully ombre scale dress is stunning it’s beautiful it’s gorgeous it looks amazing on her like it fits her phenomen omally the white into the green into the light blue like it all it flows so so well any other event I’d be like best dress the mermaid theme the idea of like herbing a fish you know glub glub and all that I don’t know how much it plays into the garden of time what I will say is from what I read the Michael Corum and Gabrielle said that they wanted to look maybe more water rather than just like the garden element because water is integral to some Gardens not all Gardens but to some and what I will also say is again in the bit of Sleeping Beauties there was a whole section about mermaids there was also I believe a section about she is a African goddess of water who is like part fish part human her name is Mommy wat and there is a whole dedication to Mommy wat and designer interpretations of her because again part of the exhibit was about sea and you know water and things again I see it but not so like convinced next up we have El Fanning now she is wearing this man look it is again really stunning really beautiful I think that’s the thing that I liked about this particular video is all the looks whether or not I think they’re on theme they’re not on theme like for the most part they’re all really good like everybody looks great I am intrigued by this Balman look because it is supposed to be based on Sleeping Beauty herself this idea of like being trapped and in that state of like being a Sleeping Beauty does it really have to do with the garden of time no does it really have to do a whole lot with like what’s going on in the exhibit I’m not really sure do I think it’s a great dress absolutely the idea of these like little birds actually almost looking like maybe it’s more Cinderella birds that almost are like draping the dress on her I think is really really interesting and what I will also say is from my understanding L and BMA said that they wanted to sort of look at Sleeping Beauty and glass and how fragile glass is but also if we think about it when we look at like the Snow White fairy tale the idea of like a glass coffee and a woman being sort of preserved is very much so a part of the story and so I wondered if that was where we were going I do love it on her I do think it looks really really great how on the theme it is not really sure but next up we have Emily R jakowski she’s wearing Versace this is a vintage style it is a sheer dress with lots of embroidery on it it listen it’s stunning on her her butt crack is out people go Wild Buck Wild butt wild who knows I don’t I’ll be honest I know that in explaining the dress Emily rowski wanted to look at a dress that was sort of fragile and this dress apparently is very fragile and I know that it is from the fall 2001 OD cure collection by verace but like overall theme it’s a reference great but like bottom Barrel scrape I think it could have been more interesting than having your butt crack out and like here’s the thing I’m not anti like butt crack out but like have your butt crack have a meaning have it say something about the garden something about the time that’s not my job to explain why your butt crack has something to do with the theme but it should Okay and like a sheer dress is not cutting it for me next up we have Eva Chen and she is wearing a custom Robert one look Robert one I would say is one of my favorite designers and I love this dress what I’m going to say is how much does it have to do with the garden element of the garden of time not sure what I do think is really interesting is the concept of this dress I believe is called the snow Rose and so this dress is fully embroidered and embellished to obviously look like iachan is covered in snow the dress itself is a stunner like it’s beautiful it looks like it’s just been pummeled with snowballs in certain ways and I’m amazed at the fact that Robert can do this the fact that it lays out and it looks like somebody like stamped their foot in the snow there’s not actually like a footprint but it looks like smashed snow or compressed snow and that I love I do think it’s really really interesting because snow obviously can very quickly not be snow anymore it can change form and I think this plays into like a water theme in the sea and things like that I see it completely I understand where we’re coming from and I do think it’s a beautiful dress it’s really really stun I think that’s the thing about some of like the more abstract like ideas of what we’re looking at when it comes to the time thing I think it’s hard to express through the snow element the idea of time even though obviously we can see that it is most definitely something that over time will shift and change and that’s the whole thing about water I’m also wondering now maybe had like the dress actually been wet in certain spots that could have conveyed the idea of the time a little bit more that over time the snow will change its molecules or whatever atoms to no longer be in that specific form and it will slowly but surely fade and I’m not saying that they should have like embroidered real snow on it cuz that doesn’t actually make logical sense but I mean had the dress been wet it in certain places to give that idea an element of the snow yeah I would have liked that a little bit more I think that would have conveyed to me like bam time change draft but besides that I do think it’s really beautiful next up we have Greta Lee she’s wearing L ve I’m going to be honest I’m not obsessed I’m not listen it’s a white lace dress with florals all over it and I like the silhouette on gret I think it’s fun I think it’s cool I get it I like it it’s a floral and as a garden sure but like at least with like io’s look it was the sort of fading at least with Dan Levy it was this idea of like the time element built in this is just flower maybe if this was made out of like ancient lace or something something I could get into it a little bit more like it looks nice on her I appreciate the silhouette I appreciate the flowers but I want more I do sorry I do that’s how I feel next up we have gendel and Christie she is wearing Marella and listen again like it’s a beautiful dress I really like it I love this horsehair Cape it’s a reference to VNA go watch our marel video if you really need an explainer of like most of these margel looks and why they are what they are and gwend and chrisy is great and she carries it off and I love to see her she’s doing her thing that velvet dress is stunning I believe Tabby shoe is also cool but Garden Of Time theme me understanding seeing N I don’t I’m sorry I really don’t I don’t get it I don’t see it and I want to get it and I want to see it cuz I love her I think she’s a star I think she’s amazing I think she’s wonderful but I’m not seeing the theming going on here at least with Ashley cuz they’re both like two of the co-hosts of the carpet there was a flower on it I’m like all right check and she looked hot so like check great cool but here I just wish that there had been some sort of floral something maybe a floral at the bottom of the horse hair maybe florals or flowers sort of made out of the horse like I just wish there was something there to really tie it all together and un fortunately it’s like it’s a beautiful look it’s just in this context right now it’s a disappointment next up we have Isabelle Hooper and she’s wearing Balenciaga and I know people don’t like Blen siaga people have been calling me demonic for the past two days I also just want to clarify my jacket was made by chrisal belenciaga chrisal blaka died in 1972 he was in the ground 6 feet under done okay my jacket was made in the 60s everybody being like no I’m not I’m actually very much so not because it was made before the whole Scandal so you sound dumb when you open your mouth like that or use your fingers to type stupid [ __ ] I should what not wear a piece of fashion history a handmade Blen like you sound dumb sweetie now if you’re mad about Isabelle Hooper wearing new blaga listen keyboard Warrior go for it I don’t really care but what I will say is I think the Isabelle Hupa Balenciaga look is really really interesting because it’s a recreation of a dress that is actually found in the exhibit and it was worn by a socialite in the 1930s the dress itself is really stunning it is really really beautiful and something that I found really really interesting about the whole look in general was that even on display it has little sort of marks and black lines and things like that from wear and use it’s really interesting to see a dress from the 1930s out and about now the dress was originally made by the designers Kell kosur was a brand that came around in the 1910s it actually was designed at one point by mine Vian who then invented the bias cut and then Blan siaga as a young designer actually referenced the bias cut and was recreating bias cut by VNA all ties back that like kosur VNA Baga they’re somewhat connected so I do understand it but what is crazier and I just learned this I didn’t know this Isabelle Hooper famous actress icon Legend is the great great great granddaughter of one of the Kell sir sisters cuz sir in French means sisters and it was three sisters I believe it was like Renee and mcreed and another one and I forgot her name and I apologize but those three sisters started that brand and Isabel hoir is a descendant of one of the sisters which like makes you fashion royalty in my opinion you’re related you got that blood flowing through your veins and so I thought that this was really really cool and I thought it was good that Balenciaga recreated it I thought it was smart that Isabelle wanted to reference something that was actually in the exhibit it looks very similar even down to like see those curved seams on the train you can see a lot of those seams in the actual train I think it’s a smart idea I thought it was a smart way to call back to her own history The Garden of time you know time ancestry things like that like you know if you could do that because you have that relation I think that’s smart and also you’re wearing a look from the actual exhibit so got to approve next up we have Janelle Monae she is wearing Vera Wang this is a custom look and it’s based on the crystal flowers from the garden of time by JG Ballard we can see that there’s a big Crystal like flower sitting on her neck and also one or two that are sitting on the actual pette dress um I’ll be honest it’s not my favorite I see the flower and the crystal flower and the garden of time and like approve cuz like sure but as far as like looks go especially as far as Janelle mune goes with looks kind of disappointed didn’t really love didn’t really think that it worked I felt kind of blah from it I think it has a lot to do with like that line that runs down sternum area it just felt BL to me crystal flower sure I wish that they had been in Incorporated more throughout the look but like one big one shooting out of jom’s neck like she just got impaled by it next up we have Jessica Beal she’s wearing whatever this is she looks really pretty how on theme is she not at all so like Jessica that’s great really happy that you look nice not really happy that I have to look at you not on theme kind of sucks kind of annoying kind of a waste of time like you couldn’t have got tomorrow Ralph to I don’t know make those feathers into a bunch of flowers that wasn’t possible that wasn’t a conversation we could had we could have discussed it whatsoever okay got it next up we have Josh o Conor he’s wearing L this is a custom suit but I do love the big train like tails on the coat I think it’s very fun it does reference the most recent L collection as for the shirt I do like that it’s fully embellished and there is some sort of little silver pin to recreate a tie but the only Garden of time element that I’m getting is the floral on the boot and not good on theme do I love the outfit sure absolutely he looks striking he looks handsome he looks interesting it’s not just a black suit do you think it’s on theme no stamp of approval in that regard but you look good Josh proud of you keep this up next up we have Carol G and Carol G is wearing Mark Jacobs this is a custom look it’s a sheer style exposing the Bon and the krinolin and all that it’s full of these crystals that I assume is probably trying to reference like the crystal flower from the store but again like it’s crystals on her dress there’s no flower flowering and then Carol G was like I love fairies and I was like well that’s good they love to listen to your music but what I don’t think is good as the outfit there’s nothing to it like yes you can say historical silhouette blah blah blah blah blah great great great no no no I don’t care there’s just nothing here that really speaks to that just kind of sucks like it’s uninteresting it’s boring I also don’t really think it’s a super attractive look either unfortunately there just NADA and again I think the thing with Marc Jacobs in particular is like he’s a designer that likes to reference past decades and I felt like it would have been a little bit more interesting to do something along those lines and incorporate flowers and florals and all that this yikes next we Kiki Palmer and she is also wearing Marc Jacobs this is a custom look what I think is better about this Marc Jacobs moment is at least you have this idea of like deterioration we can see on Kiki’s skirt that there are little rips and tears we can even see the fraying of the fabric underneath like I think that at least lets me get into time degradation the way that things decompose like there’s something there to it and when we look at the actual exhibit as well there are a lot of dresses and a lot of pieces that do have the holes and the strips and the rips and the tears and the fraying and so like I will take this I also think it’s a really lovely dress on her I think it looks really beautiful I like the arm wrap detail I think there’s ways of going about it where you can do it and kind of get away with it without it being too heavy on the floral or too heavy on the time and it still looks nice like she looks pretty I think she’s referencing the exhibit maybe not the garden of Time theme but it’s good I’ll take it it’s okay let’s move on next up we have Kylie manogue again this idea of like fabric degradation of Decay this is a diesel look and liked of Cameron who we were talking about earlier Glenn Martin from diesel likes to do this and so this is a dress that is based on a Runway look but it’s almost like certain patches of this denim inspired moment have been sort of stripped and so they expose the body underneath if you look at like old denim from the 1800s from the early 1900s you’ll see that there’s a lot of degradation even though denim is a really sturdy material so I assume that that’s what Glenn was sort of looking at is the way that clothing and things can sort of change and shift over time I also feel like it’s probably a reference to Martin Marella Glenn is Belgian Marella was Belgian and think the belgians like to to reference the gals I think it’s smart I think it was a good way of like not having to go too far out for Glenn and Diesel and Kylie in this case what they’ve been doing and still keeping on theme this idea of time is there this idea of clothing changing over time is there it’s still crystally it’s still pretty it’s still a full gown like I think that diesel did it very very smartly this year next up we have Lauren Sanchez now if you don’t know Lauren Sanchez she is the wife and or soon to be wife of Jeff B she’s wearing Oscar deara and listen as far as Theme Goes scraping bottom Barrel a great it’s a rose flower on a big black beautiful dress what I will say is she does look really really good I love this dress and anywhere else I’d be like oh Miss Lauren is taking it today she is winning and I do think that like okay flower fine approve but what I also really really love about the dress again the fit is phenomenal that hourglass weight is stunning on her it looks good the skirt is Bountiful it’s beautiful and then on top of it not just the fit not just the silhouette all of that these are all pieces of glass that are embroidered or you know sewn on to this skirt and they create almost like a broken glass rose and so you can see different areas of it the flower emerges and materializes and like if you’re going to do a flower for a garden of time thing at least make it interesting at least make it something that we haven’t really seen before new and fun and Chic and I think that she’s done it simple not really forward thinking but does she look good yeah is she on theme technically can I deny any of these things no next up we have Lily James she’s wearing erom so here’s the thing about Lily like obviously it has black flowers on it great theme approve sure wonderful do I think that Lily should have done something a little bit more interesting yeah again this is what I mean like you look at the Lauren Sanchez one and you say oh this is a cool way of looking at a flower and doing something different that we really haven’t seen embroidering black flowers on Lily James at like odd little places I’ve seen it I’m not really interested by it it doesn’t really do anything for me I know that the explanation was that ‘s most recent collection was based on the legendary Maria kalis who was an operatic singer Carmen habanero like that’s Maria Kus and I love a Maria kalus so like nothing about Maria but the whole theme for the dress was that as Maria kis would have deserved and did deserve people throwing flowers on stage to her was what the reference was as they say you’re so full of [ __ ] the toilet is jealous I just I don’t believe that I think they just were like oh we got to do flowers and my issue with urum too is like erum is a floral brand like that’s what erum does he does it very well and that’s what we could come up with I don’t know I expect more from the floral girls you I mean like if floral is your go-to thing it’s something that you do every single season and you do it usually very well I would expect a little bit Revolution a little bit of excitement a little bit of interested intrig cuz this flat next up we have little Sims and she is wearing Burberry this is a custom look it’s a trench coat so like Burberry history okay and there are florals across different elements so there are little floral embroideries on the sleeves on bottom panels of the coat and I do think that the Fringe element is coming off of the embroidery and it’s almost like it’s flowing out and the pieces of The Fringe have yet to been cut from the embroidery will I say that I’m like obsessed with it no I’m not will I say that like Shore garden flower theme okay yeah I wish there was maybe a little bit deconstruction in it I don’t know what exactly it would have been but I feel like with a trench coat in particular like garbine is the material that was very much so really important to keeping water and wicking water away from Tren coats maybe making a trench coat not out of garbine but that over time had like slowly been destroyed and corroded by moisture and by wetness and like that I think would have been cool it would have been time it would have been on theme a floral on a trench coat am I jazzed about it no do I think she looks nice sure but jazzed no next up we have Michelle yo she is wearing Balenciaga listen if you again if you want to [ __ ] on this Balenciaga in particular be my guest aluminum foil tin can disinteresting cheek yeah listen like she’s beautiful I love Michelle yo don’t get it twisted I really do enjoy she is mother but what I will say is like theme no I know the blaga was like oh well it’s B one like a 1950s dress stop just say we don’t care I would appreciate that more be a little bit more upfront and honest we’ll talk about Nicole Kidman’s Baga moment in a bit but like they just should have done that I think that would have been smarter it would have been cheer it would have been more interesting reference old blaga that’s that’s all I really want nowadays cuz like I don’t need the tin foil Brigade to be coming through okay next up we have Mindy King she’s wearing gorov Gupta the Indian designer listen she looks beautiful I love this dress I love Goro’s very signature sort of draping style these little micro pleat like the fit of the actual dress on her the way that it curves and sort of shapes the waist and then the big sort of flowing floofs that come out from you know the back and the shoulders gorgeous sunning we look at the back of the dress it’s lovely it’s wonderful even the color I think is like a pretty solid color works really really well on Mindy she’s done everything right what I’m going to say on the theme is the team of G of was like oh this is a melting Rose or a melting flower and in the back you can see the flower melting [ __ ] you’re lying you know you’re lying with respect I respect you you respect me we respect each other come on cut me a break everybody else sure what I’m going to say is even though I think that that’s a [ __ ] explanation I do think the look is really lovely if you look at the back Shore if you want to look for a flower in your Roar shock test be my guest I’m going to say listen do I think the theme is theming barely by thread by a hair sure fine do I think that she looks stunning absolutely 100% without a doubt so I’ll approve it okay so next we’re going to talk about who I would say is one of the queens of the night in general and I know everybody’s mad at me cuz I talk about it in the first part listen I got to Spread spread the kindness spread the love spread the care we’re talking about Mona Patel now if you don’t know Mona Patel welcome to the club I did not know who she was but I found out who she was when her stylist La Roach kept tagging me in posts and I was like I’m so scared cuz this is after I said I didn’t like Zen look and I was like oh laws law is letting me have it fair but here’s the thing he kept trying to tag Mona whose Instagram handle is hot Mona and was tagging me and I was like wow I literally have never felt like I’ve looked so beautiful in my entire life and I never will and that’s because Mona and me spiritually through her cuz now I feel like I am also hot Mona hot lemona that’s that’s me I’m hot lemona she’s just hot Mona we are wearing Iris van herpin I love this dress not only is it just sort of a beautiful construction dress in terms of there’s this gorgeous lace you have these lovely sort of fitted Styles you have the lace panels that sort of shape the body of course you have this little high low in the front lit which I think works and then the back of the dress is its own sort of trumpet of beauty it’s just it’s stunning it’s gorgeous it’s wonderful but the thing is I know people are going to be like well the dress isn’t really on theme that’s fine totally fine doesn’t really matter what is on theme is the arm band glove things which is fine because they move they move they are mechanic they are robotic and they as flowers bloom they move and they bloom and they close and they shut and to me I think that most definitely speaks to the idea of the garden of time the way that overtime flowers bloom out and then eventually they fade away and die it’s stunning and on top of it I think you can look at it as sort of the future of fashion in the way that time not only looks at the past but also the future and that robotic garments and movements like that yeah sold easy 100% on top of it the back of the dress like the way that they’ve constructed it is rather impeccable because the gold sort of bands that wrap around and hold the gloves in Place do actually connect back to the back of that dress and that’s where the mechanic element happens and that’s how you get that movement to go I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a beautiful but also so incredibly utilitarian piece in my life like it is miraculous looking I think it’s brilliant I think it’s smart I think it’s a great way of doing this flower theme without it having to feel like oh I’ve seen that before oh it’s so boring oh it’s so disinteresting like Queen of the Night I loved it I thought it was beautiful I thought it was amazing I am only honored to have been mistaken for her for 0.7 seconds shout out to Mona Patel cuz she’s a fashion girl having her met Cala moment like she’s she’s Tipp top she’s up there she really truly is up there next up we have Natasha punala and she is wearing Marella this is a custom version of a look from the most recent collection and it’s this idea of stockings and tights that are ripped destroyed and then sort of stretched over the body but the dress itself is actually made up of foam and again if you have not watched our marel video it explains so much about why these things are important but for a brief synopsis Martin marela used to take things whether they were past garments whether they were past pieces of furniture just anything and would deconstruct it and like the idea of deconstructing these things how they would look over time and degrading them and then sort of reconstruct them in different forms what I love about the stocking element I know people are going to say it looks so ugly it looks so blah blah blah that’s fine totally think that but what it also signifies in my mind and it’s the same thing with the foam is that certain things like stockings or any sort of furniture that has foam in it when they’re ripped or torn when the foam on a couch cushion or something starts to come out and be visible people then immediately say that thing is ruined that thing is no longer something I want to see because now we automatically deem that as broken destroyed unfunctional all of those things but those are things that just naturally will happen to textiles like couch cushions or Foams or stockings over time it’s just the natural progression of those things no matter what you wear it will degrade it will rip it will tear it will Fray it will do whatever and so I think that Natasha honestly kind of perfectly embodies that idea of the time element I think that she understands and through margel also understands that garments and th are inseparable you cannot separate them from each other and that a garment will change and shift as time goes on no matter what you do I kind of love it I think it’s smart I think it’s on the money I just don’t think it’s a flower which totally fine by me at this point next up we have Nicki Minaj and she is wearing Marne now this is a custom dress but it is based on the spring 2024 collection it’s a dress that has a bell shape and I do really love the silhouette on her I think it looks really beautiful and the dress itself actually does have some sort of technique and I don’t know the exact technique but it’s based on imposto painting now if you don’t know what imposto is it’s essentially where paint is layered or placed on a canvas and isn’t fully like smoothed out rather it sort of creates a three-dimensional texture and so that’s what you’re looking at on the dress we can also see that there is these sort of tin but painted flowers that sit all along the dress definitely plays into this whole idea of like the garden element and also tin I guess or you know copper whatever the metal pieces are that these are made out of often times don’t really degrade so is it Timeless maybe possibly the other element though that’s really smart is there actually is one of these dresses in the exhibit for Sleeping Beauties and a big part of why this is in that exhibit is because parts of the exhibit are supposed to be very much so sensorial in the sense of sometimes you can smell things sometimes you can see things sometimes you can touch things sometimes you can hear things and so this morning dress the way that when it moves it makes certain clanging noises because of the metal on metal and the way that it just operates but because when we’re looking at it in a museum you don’t see it move you don’t hear it move and even a lot of the times during the fashion shows you might not hear the movement you might not hear the clanging because we’re looking at pictures or there’s sound or music over top and so you lose this idea of that so technically Nikki is very much so on theme not only in the garden thing but also referencing the actual exhibit and the way that it’s meant to be interactive next up we have Nicole Kidman and she is wearing Balenciaga and this is a Custom Creation but it is based on a Blen siaga look from 1951 I’m pretty positive that it’s inspired by flamco and Crystal Blen yaga’s being Spanish and Spanish Heritage what I’ll also say is I do think that Blen siaga recently has been smart about looking at the archive and the O cure element because that’s the thing that people since the Scandal really I think say oh like Chris buin Yaga must be rolling in his grave and I wouldn’t totally disagree whatsoever and so I think it’s smart in that regard to do sort of Regal Glamour Beauty construction quality listen do I think that it’s super garden now do I think the time element of like a reference I guess again I like a reference is scraping the bottom of the barrel to me do I think she looks nice sure absolutely do I prefer the original blena sure absolutely but she tried I guess I just think that there would have been more floral Blen Yaga moments to probably look at like if what we’re going to do that again bottom Barrel scrap next up we have Paloma lessor and she is wearing H&M and this is a custom look hate the skirt I’ll be honest I really hate the skirt but I do find the sort of bodice piece really really interesting cuz yes it does have Cal that are sort of jutting out of it in a silver but the piece underneath to me looks like either a stone or a metal statue that is weathered and worn and when I look at it and I think about it I realized that so little of these looks really sort of figured out the fact that the count and the contest from the garden of time by JG Ballard turned into stone like they eventually at the end of the story just become stone figures and so I feel like that’s kind of what Paloma is getting at and going for do I maybe wish the full skirt was also metal to really like capture that yeah I do or there was like a bustle in that skirt I know it’s a very long skirt but like something to sort of reference maybe 19th century if we were going for like the count test sort of vibe but out of everybody that talks about the count and the count test and I would say that this sort of feels like it’s more of a interesting take and looks at the ending of the story rather than just 19th century dress and calling it a day again hey the skirt I do think she’s very on theme though so we appreciate Pala next up we have quana chasing horse and what I’m going to say is listen without a doubt she looks stunned this dress is beautiful it’s gorgeous it’s ethereal it’s amazing it’s Immaculate and it’s by H&M which is kind of shocking to me now this dress apparently is based on an H&M dress from their archives which when I read that I was like Arch H&M but H&M was actually founded in 1947 I didn’t know that then more you know you learned something new every day and on top of that this dress is a reference to a beaded style from 1950s that they found in the archive in Stockholm and feden I really do think she looks beautiful I think the color is immaculate I think the color is gorgeous now quana also said that the sort of waist belt that is embroidered with the floral on it which gives you the garden of time is a reference to the Alaskan Forget Me Not which is a flower that is very very rare and she was saying that she’s only found five to 10 forget me kns in her life growing up in Alaska it’s something that is very sort of rare you don’t see that often again Garden like I get it I see it I think she looks absolutely gorgeous and so like I’m very much so enjoying that I’m going to going to try to think not that much about the theme part next we have Rebecca Ferguson who’s wearing Tom Brown now this is the look after she took off the cape we have a video this is her sort of removing the cape and I do love a little bit of a dramatic reveal it’s really gorgeous it looks it’s really beautiful I love the crows on it I love the moare lining and the blue All That Jazz there is a little bit of flowers on the actual dress so like theme sure as far as Tom Brown goes as far as Rebecca Ferguson goes a little disappointed kind of not at all kind of but like actually disappointed I just I thought that we would get something kind of crazy and I guess I thought crazy on theme cuz with Dune she was really like in her fashion Theory mindset this doesn’t feel as mindset to me she does look beautiful again I love a reveal like she’s doing what I would like for her to do just not on theme or partially it’s like baby on theme the rest of it was just thematrix which I don’t completely hate next up we have Rosalia she’s wearing Christian Dior it’s an all black look wow shocking so fashioned so crazy oh my gosh The Garden of time has never been so thoroughly thoughtful now Rosalia also the this was this is a crazy one she said that she wanted to be inspired by the idea of Sleeping Beauty and the Sleep part where when you close your eyes it all goes black I don’t want to be rude but are you zup like please enough of the buffoonery just say I don’t care say I don’t care say I don’t think about themes say it’s uninteresting to me say whatever I wanted to wear a black look just say that I don’t need the like I need to figure out an i idea cuz like then you guys sound like you all failed basic literature it just like no oh Sleeping Beauty I fell asleep that’s what my look is black no stop stop you’re smarter than that and I don’t like you saying that for your sake because makes you seem not that bright not that bright at all because you’re wearing black it just like and then on top of it like sure is it like a Dior reference yeah 100% great and every floral Dior reference that you could have done you didn’t do one Mr Dior who was like women every woman is like a flower like and also like Maria grazi and Dior have been like referencing old Dior archival moment so like sure is this actually probably Dior archival reference I believe that it is I can’t find the season I don’t feel like I should have to find the season in this context if she had come in some beautiful fully embellished and embroidered moment I’d be like cool all right listen like there’s a lot of Mark bow in which Mario Gracia loves of those beautiful gowns so I also don’t want to hear like oh could find one like yes you could cuz you find them more often than not so I this is dumb I hate this I’m annoyed next up we have Sabrina Carpenter and she is wearing Oscar de lorenta this is a custom look now in my opinion this is based on a Charles James dress the lampshade dress I believe the lampshade dress was like 1954 or something but when Charles James came out with the lampshade dress in the ‘ 50s it was beautiful and it was kind of different than what we’d normally been seeing and it’s been recreated a lot over time now Sabrina’s look obviously captures the black black sort of velvet fitted cocktail element and then flows out into this big poofy skirt it’s different than the lamb dress in the sense of like it has a train and all that is it on theme like okay a reference again Barrel but I love Oscar I like Sabrina I like espresso but they hand painted the skirt blue because it was meant to be a reference to Sabrina’s eyes which are blue and like orchids and listen let’s be real I can’t relate cuz I’m not stupid enough enough I don’t know like she should have been covered in coffee beans at this point like something else I need her to figure out a time reference or a garden reference more so listen she does look beautiful I like the idea of the hand painted silk like I like all of this and anything else and at any other event I would have enjoyed but next up we have S Jessica Parker and Andy Cohen Andy Cohen is wearing bery Andy Cohen really should be in the I hate men that wear boring black suits thing and also Andy you a homosexual better expected what I’ll also say though Sarah Jessica Parker is wearing Richard Quinn and like it’s okay Richard is a big fan of florals and this idea of like the lace and crystal flower I guess we can get into like crystals and flowers and and stuff so sure sure yeah okay but I just I don’t know I also don’t really understand why everybody wanted to do beige with the crystal flowers for the most part it’s fine like it’s on theme crystal flowers Shore silhouette Shore T you know I like the Hat I just wasn’t obsessed which with s j Parker normally I’m a little bit more excited about what she wears and this just feels a little not up to her particular standards so I’m good next up Serena Williams Ferrer Rocher cure Baga Nicole K been more of this own Runway I don’t understand it I don’t know why to let them do that to her I really don’t like that at all my queen I no it’s bad it’s really it’s egregious it’s actually kind of horrible that that is a thing that’s really happening and that again like she let them do that you know like I can’t even blame blaga for all of this anymore at this point because like Serena no no no no no no I don’t want to hear it if anybody should have showed up in like a grass dress Serena Williams the queen of tennis lawn no grass dress I don’t know grass has been very good to you in your career Madam not understanding next up we have wisdom wisdom K if you don’t know wisdom K wisdom K is in my opinion the most stylish man in the world he’s also a lovely human being that I’m very much so obsessed with if I wish anybody in the world well it is wisdom and wisdom responds to that often with giving us some of the most wonderful Men’s Wear moments in the world so wisdom is wearing Robert one who’s the designer we’re talking about with Chen this is from the most recent Robert one okure collection and as we can see this look is full of holes and I think that it’s a great reference to time not only are the holes a reference to time in the way that fabric will degrade and the fact that this coat has an amazing train but also is like singed and burnt at the bottom I do think that it has to do a lot with the theme I do really like the idea of well fire isn’t always something that is a part of like fashion conservation when it comes to the Sleeping Beauties exhibit smoke is something that is very much of a part of it and there was a lot of elements of the sense of smell in the exhibit too this whole collection and a lot of Robert’s recent okore collections have been about the fact that garments can be ruined or can be made imperfect but kind of loving those imperfections and this idea of you know a designer sort of I don’t know maybe working in their atellier and smoking a cigarette and the cigarette accidentally Falls and burns the dress that idea of being into that degradation and what could happen to a garment just with time with anything and how that can be kind of beautiful so I loved it I thought it was gorgeous I love the collar the fact that it’s singed I love the Cuffs I love the hat like wisdom just is one of the fashion influencers that really understands fashion he looks gorgeous he looks interesting he looks memorable he looks exciting he’s into the theme like this man should be invited to all of the Met Gallows thank you end of story have a nice day appreciate you king and the last person we’ll talk about in our looks for this part two review Zoe Sana Chloe no this is a dress Off The Runway and like listen what I’m going to say is I love CH a Kamali think she’s a great designer love the Khloe return very excited about it this was not the time to pull out the Chloe belt that says Chloe on it you know what I mean this was the time to pull out a floral reference from The kloe Archives this not cutting it this sucks this is not good I’m so sorry to Zoe thank you so that is the end of our part two fashion roasting review I hope you all enjoyed I will see you guys for part three we’re looking at all the men’s looks and being mean to men buckle up part four I think also will just be a being mean to people that really just truly did not care about the theme whatsoever so see you all soon thank you so much for watching and TT y l

    1. Regardless of not following the theme, I love Mindt Kaling's and Mona Patel's dresses. They would be fabulous wedding dresses in a white shade. Wisdom Kaye looked great!

    2. The tiny festering bits of rage I feel every year directed towards the men and women who show up in "A" dress or in "A" tux. No one forced them to agree to an invitation so if you're not into fashion or you simply don't give two F's, stay home! It's just the showing up to advertise your brand, or the being nowhere near or around ANY theme, or the BS stories they concoct on the way in that did it for me. You can't BS a BSer babes! So honestly congrats to anyone who just held a rose in hand, or tacked it to their headpiece, or brought in a clock bag just so they could slither through on the theme…AT LEAST you tried!!!!

    3. Mindys dress is themeing. I see a Rapunsul who has been trapped alone in the tower for years. And have made a dress out of her long hair, she then slept (thats why its flat and curly in the bag) Im sold #sleepingbeauty #time. It could have been cool, if there where fake thorns in it, to represend the story of Rapunsel and the “garden” surrounding the tower.

      Could have been so cool

    4. I agree with your assessment of sabyasachi's outfit. There was no reference to time other than it being a saree. I mean with a rich history india has, it's missout.

    5. I'm so disappointed that no one did a dress that actually fell apart as they walked the carpet, this was SUCH an opportunity for the transforming garments that we saw at the Met Gala a few years ago, what happened?!

    6. Hi Luk i love your videos and how you explain the back stories. There is a Bob on the shelves behind you. It's over your right shoulder, it's royal blue and next to the purse. the front Just says 1 2 3. What I'd that about? I'd appreciate you letting me know of you would please

    7. 3 to 5 centuries ago is NOT Ancient History, lol. I believe the first look did follow the theme. The theme isn't concrete and is whimsical with many looks able to fit into it.

    8. The sleeping beauty dress made me think of plastic which felt like the opposite of degrading but still an old style
