Anyone judging these women for killing their husbands is so blind. Not everything is black and white. In the time this show is set they couldn't "just leave" it would absolutely ruin their life. Its well known before divorce was a socially acceptable thing husbands who would not treat their wife well would regularly die "mysteriously". It was and will be self defense.
