I'm a female builder, and in my country, draftmen are given specifications, and they plan the dimensions as well as go over possible structural issues, which are all added in the contracts both parties sign. to veer from the plans is a broken contract, which can bring a lawsuit or no payment required. if what you signed for isn't what you're given, that contract is null and void therefore theres no call for the client to produce paymeny.

If you paid for a tattoo on your shoulder, but the artist wanted to put it on your thigh because [reasons], that'd be a sign to take your business elsewhere.
If they actually put it there without your approval, that'd be a lawsuit in the making.
This situation isn't any different.
