This never made sense to me though. Edward was so filled with self hate and thought he wouldn’t ever go to Heaven. This is elaborated on in New moon when Carlisle is explaining to Bella why Edward doesn’t want her as a vampire. He explains that Edward thinks Vampires are terrible monsters and will all go to hell. So I’m confused as to why he think he was in heaven after he tried to “kill” himself.
