Metro Detroit native Kristen Bell will host one of Hollywood’s major awards shows in 2025.
Bell, who grew up in Huntington Woods, will preside over the Screen Actors Guild Awards on February 23. The show will be streamed live on Netflix.
This is Bell’s second time hosting the SAG Awards. She filled the same role in 2018 when she made history as the first-ever host of the program, which previously relied only on a roster of presenters.
Bell’s numerous credits include starring in two critically praised TV series, the CW’s “Veronica Mars” and NBC’s “The Good Place.” The star of movies including “Bad Moms” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” she is best known to family-film audiences as the voice of Anna in the “Frozen” movies.
This year, Bell starred with Adam Brody in the new Netflix sitcom “Nobody Wants This,” in which she plays an agnostic podcaster who becomes involved in a relationship with a rabbi. The show has been renewed for a second season.
Bell is married to another celebrity from southeast Michigan, actor and podcaster Dax Shepard.
