    1. The helicopter crew saw a plane which was what they thought was the plane ATC was referring to. And they did pass behind that plane. Also the helicopter crew was on a TRAINING mission. The word TRAINING denotes lack of proficiency. It was a multi-systems failure. Powerful people wanted their helo-limos for their convenience. And that is where the blame probably lies. I expect the Army was pressured into allowing helicopters fly in a congested airport. It’s tragic🙏🕊️♥️

    2. Again my condolences to all who perished and their families. In all these pictures the US Capitol is in plain view and I hope all of the representatives are getting a good eyeful of this as the Pentagon should also. FLY NAVY!!!

    3. Regardless of what the helicopter did or didn't see, they were operating above the altitude for which they were approved. 100% pilot error, and we all know who the pilot was.

    4. Tower controller did not give enough specific information and notify the blackhawk crew that the CRJ was coming up the east side of the river and pass directly iin front of them. One wonders if the helo crew even was familiar with the runways and understood where an aircraft landing on runway 33 would be.

    5. Question, is there a team that guides the chopper while they’re flying? Aren’t they supposed check the area to see if there are any planes or other choppers in the in the area? I don’t know much about it, so it would be nice if someone informed me about this.

    6. Not warned , just asked to acknowledge presence. They obviously were looking at the one taking off. If ATC said you are getting very close to the CRJ coming in for landing over the Potomac they may have looked to their left or northwest – 11oclock- and caught it

    7. How come my Nissan Rogue tells me when a car is passing too close. Don’t planes and helicopters have the same type of warning system when they’re getting too close to one another. If so, why didn’t it warn them, if not, why don’t they have such a system?

    8. Um. Yeah but ATC did not specify the location of the incoming plane (at 5 o clock) so the chopper could know they were looking in the wrong direction at the wrong plane. Standard practice.

    9. "16 seconds later, the plane's crew had a verbal reaction."
Why report the news half a** like this? What was the verbal reaction?
You guys know more than you are telling us.

    10. Another factor was the language used by the ATC. They asked the helicopter pilot, “do you have the CRJ7 in sight?” The word “the” denotes ONE. And the helicopter crew replied “yes”. Why didn’t the ATC tell the helicopter to just STOP when ATC received a collision warning? I don’t blame the helicopter crew or the ATC staff. Both were operating with less than ideal staffing. If it was anyone’s fault it was whoever had the power to allow helicopters fly in and around a congested airport.

    11. There were TWO CRJ's and another plane that was taking off! ATC did not specify WHICH plane they were talking about! Total incompetence AND I saw another YouTuber say they were in the middle of a shift change at the time this happened! Years ago when I worked at EMS they said we were to talk plain English on the radio! If the tower had said PAT25 stop! You are TOO close to the plane that is landing on Runway 33!

    12. This is Fake News! Donald Trump has already told American it was the Biden Administration and former Transportation Secretary that hired D.E.I people who were the major problems for this crash.

    13. The travelling public is entitled to a reasonable expectation of flight path safety which means:
      – that training flights in a loaded urban airspace should involve full staffing with very limited air corridor conflicts. IOW … when it’s a super busy, densely travelled airport sector why in the name of ___ would there be an incompetently organized/staffed helicopter be darting around in pitch darkness.
      – take the test out in Jethroland until such time as the pilots know what the dashboard knobs mean.

    15. Air controller did NOT tell Copter "Do you see airliner at 5 o'clock" There was another airliner in video taking off! So both copter & air controller at fault.

    16. A lot of attention floating around on the specifics of the collision. Who did what when? That kind of crap. That is a smoke screen to divert attention from the fact that there is no valid reason, NONE, why helicopters are allowed to fly anywhere near passenger aircraft flight lanes and patterns PERIOD. If a helicopter is in that airspace, it should only be flying IFR on final in or taking off into a departure pattern that the airliners use out. There is something like 3 MILLION square miles of airspace over the 48 contiguous states. You will never convince me that they couldn't have trained somewhere other than one of the busiest airports in North America.

    17. Here is a thought: Another misleading news headline. Continuing the poor reporting quality does not show you have done any proper journalistic investigation before pushing out another misleading story.
