Tracy Morgan, Paul Simon, other stars celebrate SNL 50

The three-hour “SNL 50” anniversary special featured throwback skits, including a song from Adam Sandler looking back on the show’s history.

You can call it a Paul Simon comeback.

The “You Can Call Me Al” hitmaker took to social media Tuesday to announce his Quiet Celebration Tour, slated to be held in mid-sized venues across America in 2025. The surprise news for fans comes as Simon is fresh off a duet with pop star Sabrina Carpenter on the “SNL50” anniversary special Sunday.

Simon, who retired from touring in 2018, released his most recent album, the acoustic “Seven Psalms,” in 2023.

The tour, which begins April 4 in New Orleans and ends this summer in Seattle, will crisscross the country as Simon marks his return.

In 2018, the then-76-year-old “Simon & Garfunkel” alum, who released five studio albums alongside Art Garfunkel, announced he would embark on “Homeward Bound – The Farewell Tour,” a touring goodbye to his loyal legion of fans.

“I’ve often wondered what it would feel like to reach the point where I’d consider bringing my performing career to a natural end,” Simon said in a statement shared to Twitter, now known as X. “Now I know: it feels a little unsettling, a touch exhilarating and something of a relief.”

Though Simon said his voice, band and love for making music were still intact, he shared that the death of his late friend and lead guitarist Vincent Nguini in December influenced his decision to stop touring.

“His loss is not the only reason I’ve decided to stop touring, but it is a contributing factor,” Simon said at the time. “Mostly though, I feel the travel and time away from my wife and family takes a toll that detracts from the joy of playing.”

But since 2018, Simon has seemingly had a change of heart. Simon has been married to fellow singer-songwriter Edie Brickell since 1992 and is the father to four adult children: Harper, Adrian, Lulu and Gabriel.
