    1. Context: Her work memories and home memories are seperate. They forget about home when at work and Vice versa so they can be more productive and focus on work when at work. This also relieves the stress of work when at home.

She is looping when she tries to leave cuz she leaves, forgets why, see she is still on the clock, returns, remembers why she left, leaves etc the loop continues

It’s the same for the other guy too. It’s all just part of the job. I forget why she is freaking out but I’m guessing it cuz she realizes she can’t remember anything outside of work.

    2. If you think this is far fetched and could never happen, then I say you need to wake to the scope of what's going on with AI and transhumanism. The age of being human is really at a threshold of change. "Covid" should have been the eye opener. Well, 9/11 really.

    3. let's say you did something wrong the day before, even something minor. that would be so annoying and stressful coming in to that surprise the next shift.
lets say you got into an argument last night, that would be pretty annoying and stressful to come home to that surprise the next night.

    4. Its hilarious the amount of people here who havent watched the show seeing this scene out of context and whining "um, dont they realize this is messed up and would never work in real life?" as if thats not the literal point of the entire show 🙄

    5. The show is called Severance. Only watched the first season so far but I enjoyed it. I already knew the name of the show but it's super annoying when there is no information in the description. To these shorts or videos I click "do not recommend channel"

    6. painful comment section. people who have only watched clips on youtube terribly explaining to people who've never watched it and completely missing out loads of important context.

    7. I really love how this scene shows just how similar their perception of this space is to something like purgatory. It seems like you're repeatedly walking back into the building via some non-euclidean loop, when in reality, she could have left for minutes, hours or even days and yet been totally unaware of it.

    8. Thats why things should be left as they are. There will always be loopholes or details not taken account for resulting in disaster. That´s also why substitutes don´t really work as well and only lead to unfullfilling outcomes. Yet we try to trick ourselves into thinking everything is fine, when it´s not. Alienation is a killer. If the Wakeup or Realization that one wasted his life, chances or time…the emotions cannot be held…and are likely leading to violence against oneself or others.

    9. I wonder what it would be like for an accomplished business woman with high standards who's a wreck outside of work & sleeps with whoever specifically because of the severance. Sounds like a good ol' 2000's spoof plot.
