The Princess of Wales is said to be “doing well” as she recovers in hospital after planned abdominal surgery.

    The princess, 42, was admitted to the London Clinic on Tuesday for an operation and will remain there for between 10 and 14 days. The condition has not been disclosed, but is understood to be non-cancerous.

    The surgery is said to have been a success and the Princess “is doing well”, according to Palace sources.

    However, Palace officials have cleared her diary for several months to allow her proper recovery time. She is expected to be away from public duties until at least Easter.
