This is what happens to a lot of these washed up stars. They made a lot of money from a couple of songs (pre Spotify etc) and then slowly dwindles. Dude was probably doing big venues for 50k just to perform that beautiful girls song, then 7 years later getting maybe 15k to perform all his popular songs, then another 7 years go by and he ain’t getting booked for a bingo hall and the money has gone. The rent payments on the mansion and flash cars need to be paid to keep up that image and ego so they turn to fraudulent BS. Now they will end up with less money than what they started with.
