Robert De Niro Reacts to Daughter Airyn De Niro Coming Out as Trans | E! News
Robert Dairo’s fatherly love is unconditional. After his daughter Aaron Dairo came out publicly as a transgender woman, the Oscar-winning actor declared his full support for his child. He said in a statement to deadline April 30th, “I loved and supported Aaron as my son and now I love and support Aaron as my daughter.” Robert, who shares Aaron and her twin brother Julian Dairo with ex Tuki Smith, continued, “I don’t know what the big deal is. I love all my children.” When Aaron shared her trans identity, she admitted to wondering how her family would receive the news. In an interview with them published April 29th, she said, “I think part of me is concerned that my family will maybe still think of me as the person I was before the transition. Nonetheless, Aaron, who began hormone therapy November, credited her parents for ensuring she was able to grow up as a regular kid, saying, “Obviously, no parent is perfect, but I am grateful that both my parents agreed to keep me out of the limelight. They wanted it very private. They have told me they wanted me to have as much of a normal childhood as possible.” While describing herself as a late bloomer, Aaron credited trans women in including actress Leverne Cox for inspiring her to live authentically. And after reading about her impact on Aaron’s journey, Leverne shares some heartfelt words of her own. She said in an Instagram video April 30th, I just read that I’m one of the women who’ve inspired you over the years and I’m deeply deeply honored um that I can be an inspiration for you. I often have moments. Reading that from you, Aaron, was a reminder that um I have enough. I am enough and I do enough. [Music]

I am not transphobic, but I just do not get the mental confusion of ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE GENDERS!!!??? I am truly sick of this miss on getting mental health under control. He's right, it's not a big deal just because his son dresses like, and chooses to live life as a "woman". However, It BECOMES a big deal when the expectation is that society disregard basic biology in order to accept this person as a "real" woman. That's where it goes too far. Dems need to go back to 90s era liberalism, where many of us had a "live and let live" mindset, without the delusion. Growing up in NYC in the 90s, there was plenty of gender bending, drag queens, transvestites etc, but they didn't actually believe they were women, and furthermore didn't expect the world to see them as such.

I feel great admiration for Mr De Niro. A seminal actor who will be remembered for many a generation with a straight forward, sensible and compassionate understanding of civil rights. People would do well to pay heed.
