Hi, I’m Judy Reed, production designer on Pokerface season 2, and you’re watching By Design with E-News. Well, for Pokerface, so much of it is the thread that we’re following is from season 1, which is basically following Charlie’s travels across the country. I show you something. I’d love to, but I’ve got a very strict no second location policy, you know, but uh well, we do all have to go sometime. But for the show, you know, it’s really more about the characters that Charlie encounters in each episode. And thankfully, they are on the little bit sometimes on the quirkier side, which makes it more fun for us. That’s it. Fox. For episode 2011, a lot of it came from just doing research and the motifs of that time period. So, you know, for instance, Cynthia Rivo’s craft room. It was so much fun. and the scenic artist had a blast creating all her models and sculptures. Her whole interest was bedazzling her items. And so then we went down that road as well and how we could marry the two. Tell me a fact about yourself, but don’t dig too deep. You’re freaking me out. True. There are no reoccurring sets or characters, so it’s really like doing 10 short films every 10 days. We had on average four to five locations per episode and we had 12 episodes. So you’re always thinking and really your brain doesn’t stop working for 9 months. It’s always on even when you’re sleeping. [Music] [Music]
Poker Face production designer Judy Rhee dealt E! News a behind-the-scenes look at how season two’s killer aesthetic came together. With up to five locations per episode, she revealed why the Peacock series, starring Natasha Lyonne, feels like 10 short films. Go all in when Poker Face season two premieres on Peacock May 8.
