The Sweet Way Billie Lourd Is Honoring Late Mom Carrie Fisher for ‘Star Wars’ Day
Billy Lord isn’t letting May I 4th pass her by without giving her mom some love. In celebration of what fans of the sci-fi series deem Star Wars day, Billy honors her late mother Carrie Fiser, posting a pic of her and husband Austin Ryel’s kids, four-year-old son Kingston, and two-year-old daughter Jackson watching a scene from the 1977 film featuring Carrie as Princess Leia. Billy writes, “May the 4th.” Billy’s sweet snap comes less than 6 months after she commemorated the 8th anniversary of her mother’s tragic death. Writing in a December 27th post, “It has been 8 years since my mom died.” As my son would say, “That’s a lot. I always dread this day. I spend so much time leading up to it thinking about how awful I’m going to feel.” The 32-year-old continued, “My grief has given me a deeper appreciation for all the little moments of life, and I feel all the things, the grief, the joy, the longing, the magic, the emptiness, the fullness, and it all coexists in a profound way.” On December 23rd, 2016, Carrie suffered a heart attack while aboard a flight from London to Los Angeles. She was later transported to the hospital and put on a ventilator. However, after 5 days in the intensive care unit, the legendary actress passed away at the age of 60.
Eight years after she lost mother Carrie Fisher, Billie Lourd shared how she is honoring Princess Leia on Star Wars Day May 4.
