the soldier quickly buried his friend in the dirt and pulled a dead body over himself to stay hidden enemy troops passed by one of them stepping close to his friend’s face suddenly an enemy turned and stabbed the body covering him as soon as the enemy left he pushed the body off and pulled his buried friend out in the distance he saw another soldier still alive and rushed to help but an enemy spotted him he jumped into a tunnel but a grenade was thrown after him luckily Sam noticed just in time and escaped in the dark narrow and terrifying tunnels Sam stayed hidden among enemies there he found a wounded enemy soldier but instead of killing him Sam treated his wounds the enemies stared at him in disbelief as night came Sam left the tunnel and kept searching for surviving soldiers even with his weak body he kept pulling badly injured men out of death’s grip even enemy soldiers sam’s legs started shaking his hands trembling but he didn’t stop his friend was still waiting for help he prayed “Just one more please let me save one more.” After saving another soldier he prayed again just one more the rough ropes had cut his hands badly but injured men kept coming down the cliff one by one no one could figure out where they were coming from they only knew some crazy man was saving lives up on the ridge the captain saw all this and asked in shock “Who is that crazy man?” The answer came that’s Sam the new guy everyone made fun of for being inexperienced by morning Sam had found his wounded drill sergeant enemies were searching the area sam picked up the sergeant’s rifle and for a moment the sergeant thought Sam was finally ready to kill but instead Sam wrapped the rifle in cloth and signaled the sergeant to climb onto his shoulders the sergeant gave cover fire as they reached the edge of the cliff Sam lowered him down first as soon as the sergeant reached the ground he shouted to the captain “Sam is still up there.” The next moment Sam appeared again this time carrying another wounded soldier on his back enemies tried to chase him but friendly soldiers gave cover fire sam survived when he was finally rescued his mind was still trapped on the battlefield he couldn’t even stand properly the captain gently asked “Are you hurt?” Tears filled Sam’s eyes he couldn’t say a word all the soldiers stood silent honoring the hero who had come back from hell sam probably didn’t even realize it himself but that night he had saved 76 lives alone
