Bryan Kohberger’s Family Reacts to Plea Deal in Idaho Murders Case | E! News

Brian Coberger’s family is speaking out. Brian’s family is commenting after learning the 30-year-old plans to plead guilty to murdering four Idaho college students. After Sharon Gray, the attorney for the family of murder victim, Kaye Gonzalez, confirmed to NBC News that a plea deal had been offered to the 30-year-old and accepted, taking the death penalty off the table. His family is responding. The release shared by the family’s Pennsylvania based legal representation Amorei and Associates LLC says, “In light of recent developments, the Cooberers are asking members of the media for privacy, respect, and responsible judgment during this time. We will continue to allow the legal process to unfold with respect to all parties and will not release any comments or take any questions.” The statement adds, “We ask that you respect our wishes during a difficult time for all those affected.” Opening statements in the trial were scheduled to get underway on August 18th, but according to Sharon Gray, Brian will now change his plea to guilty. In exchange for prosecutors taking the death penalty off the table, Brian, a former doctoral student in criminology, will be sentenced to four consecutive life sentences on the murder counts and the maximum penalty of 10 years for a charge of burglary per letter sent to victim’s families obtained by ABC News.
