Liverpool F.C.’s Diogo Jota Dies in Car Crash 10 Days After Wedding | E! News

Premier League soccer star Dio Jota dies in a car crash 10 days after his wedding. Less than two weeks after Dioga Jota tied the knot with his longtime love Root Cardosa, the Liverpool FC soccer star was killed in a July 2nd car crash alongside his younger brother Andre Silva. Authorities confirmed to NBC News he was 28 years old. The Spanish Guardia Civil reports that Dioga and Andre were involved in an accident that occurred at 12:30 a.m. on a highway passing through the northwestern province of Zamora. In a preliminary investigation, police note that the car’s tire blew out while overtaking before catching fire. Liverpool FC, which he joined after leaving the Wolverampton Wanderers in 2020, shares their condolences following the accident, writing in a July 3rd statement, “Liverpool football club are devastated by the tragic passing of Dio Jota. We will continue to provide them with our full support. also emphasizes that it would not be making any further comment at this time and request the privacy of Dio and Andre’s family, friends, teammates, and club staff is respected as they try to come to terms with an unimaginable loss.
