Shaun Denny Combmes fellow inmates are celebrating his acquitt after the music mogul who pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion as well as transportation to engage in prostitution. Was found guilty on two counts and not guilty on three counts. Combmes’s fellow inmates gave him a standing ovation per attorney Mark Agnafilo for avoiding potential life in prison charges. As the attorney told the Associated Press in an interview published July 6th, they all said, “We never get to see anyone who beats the government.” And as for how Combmes reacted to hearing his verdict, according to NBC News, the 55-year-old got on his knees with his head down in a chair, seemingly praying after avoiding a life in prison sentence in his case. And after the public responded with mixed opinions to the verdict, one of the jury members emphasized that the rapper’s celebrity status had no influence over their decision, telling ABC News on July 2nd, “We spent over two days deliberating. Our decision was based solely on the evidence presented and how the law is stated. We would have treated any defendant in the same manner regardless of who they were. I have nothing else to say.
