Saquon Barkley Shares Rare Insight Into Romance With Fiancée Anna Congdon | E! News

You think of all the accomplishments you have on the football field and win a Super Bowl and all that good stuff, but it’s those moments that you have with your kids. It’s, you know, seeing SJ first word, seeing Jada to walk. You’re an athlete, you’re a leader. Uh you are a voice in this uh sports industry, but you’re also a fiance fiance as well. I know you revealed that engagement earlier this year. Uh what makes that relationship with Anna work? Um you know, you got to have a partner that one that loves you. Um, and she’s been super helpful to me in my career. Um, I I’ll be naive to think I made it to this point without her, without my fianceé, without my kids, without my mom, my dad, my brothers and sisters. So, the list goes on and on. But having someone at home that loves you and know that they’re going to have your back no matter what. When I look at some of the moments, my highs and my lows in my NFL career, one person that I know that’s right next to me is my fianceé. So, she’s been super helpful and we’ve been able to create a a beautiful family and hopefully in the future be able to expand on that family and um you know, live a happy life together. How has parenthood brought you all to closer together? It helps. Uh you know, we had our our first one, Jada, at a very young age um right out of Penn State and having to move into New York City and figure it out. Uh but we’ve been, you know, like I said, my mom, my dad, her mom, her dad, her family, my family. We’ve been living in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. So, we’ve been around our families the whole time, but it’s everything. I think that’s like the coolest thing of, you know, our our life and and my life is you think of all the accomplishments you have on the football field and win a Super Bowl and all that good stuff, but it’s those moments that you have with your kids. It’s, you know, seeing SJ first word, seeing Jay Walk. What are your goals for next season after winning the Super Bowl? My goals is to be better than next year, like last year. And that doesn’t automatically mean like, you know, people probably think of stats or rushing for this amount of yards or winning the Super Bowl. Um, sometimes your better years are not years that you you score the most touchdowns or you rush the most. It’s how can I improve every single day. What has been your off season workout? One thing about Saquon Barkley you never have to worry about is me finding time to work out and making sure I tinker the things that matter most. Obviously, when you win a Super Bowl, you have a great year, you’re a lot more busier and there’s a lot of things to do, but I’ve just been doing exactly what I did the year before. So, I want to talk to you about this campaign. Congratulations becoming the newest active nutrition ambassador. What does this mean for you? What does this mean for your regimen getting ready? Uh, it’s been fun. It’s been super fun, especially today. It’s been super fun. Uh, you know, being on set, uh, just be able to develop the relationship with everyone with C4. And you know, I only could say great things about them. Um, but it’s authentic to me. I’ve been using this product for a very long time. Uh, guys in the locker room use it. Uh, it’s NSF sports certified and it’s been a big part of my routine and especially preparing me for uh, the season. You know, we only got like three or four more weeks before we get into camp. Um, so we definitely want to put the right things in our body and also make sure that tastes good. I love to hear how it gives you that boost. Just give you that juice. It give you that energy. For me, it’s like I think about, if I could paint a picture, um, think about you have a squat rack and you have a certain amount of weight on a rack and you really don’t want to do it, but you know you got to do it. Um, and you could take a little a little swig and it’s going to give you that that that energy that you need to go out there and dominate the rep. It’s cool. Now, I’ve been training my little brother and his friend, seeing how much they’ve been using it, uh, you know, within their routine and how it’s giving them a boost in their energy because, you know, their goal and aspirations to have a great year and hopefully one day playing in the NFL. So, I try to push it forward them and you know, C4 been helping them keep up with me a little bit. Um, I hear that there are some maybe there’s a big celebrity who kind of introduced you to C4. Know Kevin Art pretty well. uh him being a big Eagles fan and uh being able to go on his show and talk to him and it’s kind of been helpful for me not only just with the C4 partnership but just how successful he is and kind of been like a big little brother I guess you could say. Obviously he’s not the biggest but uh someone that I can you know anytime pick up the phone and call and and know that have my back and give me probably you know some of the best decisions or best advice that I can um you know to expand on in my life also. This makes me so happy. How did that friendship build? So, first time I met him was through football. Um, because he’s a real big Eagles fan. He actually has two birds, uh, two Eagles, one named Jaylen and one named Seaong. Uh, I I don’t know how that how that’s allowed or how that even happened. Um, he must be doing pretty well for himself to be able to buy Eagles. I mean, I got a nice old contract and I can’t even go buy Eagles. So, shout out to him. Um but started off there and his son’s a really big fan of me and um you know be able to meet his son before I think it was either the snow game or the NFC championship game and then obviously now with the partnership with C4 I’m getting to know him a little bit more.
