Camp Mystic is reeling after a heartbreaking tragedy. The Texas summer camp confirmed the loss of 27 of its campers and counselors in the flash floods that hit the area July 4th. The Christian Girls Camp, which was hosting 750 campers at the time of the flood, wrote on its website July 7th in part, quote, “Our hearts are broken alongside our families that are enduring this unimaginable tragedy. We are praying for them constantly.” The statement confirms the camp’s ongoing communication with local and state level responders as they deploy extensive resources to search for the girls who remain missing. The camp statement continues, quote, “We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from community, first responders, and officials at every level. We ask for your continued prayers, respect, and privacy for each of our families affected.” Officials said during a July 6th press conference that at the time of the briefing, 11 campers and one counselor were still missing from the camp. At least 68 people, including 28 children, authorities confirmed, had died from the floods in Kerr County, where the girl summer camp is located. The flood has become one of the deadliest to hit the United States over the past 100 years with, as of July 7th, a death toll of 81 individuals per NBC News. The outlet further notes that the rains caused a surge of 20 to 26 feet on the Guadalupe River, causing widespread damage to property and local infrastructure. [Music]

    1. No warning sirens along this stretch of the Guadalupe River. 🤷‍♂️ The nearby Presbyterian camp Mo-Ranch evacuated all of their kids. Mystic has been there long enough to know when it rains that it's dangerous… 🥀

    2. Jesus! The pink and purple trunks with stickers all over them absolutely killed me. So many people ruined by this. If I'd known how deeply I'd love my children and it truly resonate just how fragile they are in the world, I don't know that I'd have had children. Prayers!

    3. God bless all who have lost there loved ones, I will continue my prayer's for each and everyone of your, may. God bless you, guide and keep you in his loving arms and hands. give you strength to caring on. AMEN.

    4. It’s just a shame the cancelers had to turn their phones in at night, had they had their phones with them they should have heard the warnings😢

    5. Those campers did not get any warnings on their phones because sick and twisted adults want to get children alone in the woods without their phones so they cannot call for help.

    6. So I know nobody on this thread is really gonna wanna hear this, but if you Google was seeding the clouds being done in Texas prior to this occurrence you’ll find out that it was. This wasn’t a random event that happens every hundred years, this was caused because our government decided they needed more rain in that area!!
