How To Escape A Minefield

If you’re trapped in a minefield, here’s how to survive. Hey, don’t take another step. You’re one move from setting off that mine. Minefield? I thought that sign said minefield. No minefield. Hey, look. There’s a map. I can maybe use it, too. Don’t touch that. Mines are often hidden in things like military gear or even fake maps. All right. What should I do then? First, call for help. But I don’t have service. All right, we’ll have to do it the oldfashioned way. What’s the oldfashioned way? Can you see your footprints? A little bit. Retrace your steps while walking backwards. You can look over your shoulder, but don’t turn around. Oh no, my footprints are gone. Then don’t move. You’ll have to probe ahead. Do you have anything sharp? Does this count? Perfect. Lightly tap the ground at a slight angle to feel for any hard spots that could be mine. Piece of cake.

    3. Lol "Call for help."

"Hello, police, I seem to have wandered into a random minefield. Huh? Why are you asking if I'm trying to break into a military installation?"

    4. FYI most mines to my knowledge are set up to take down groups so they need a couple repeated steps, though I might be wrong.

    5. Really unrealistic. I thought this was going to talk about places that these might be, like active war zones, and it takes a considerable amount of weight to set off a mine. No, you can booby trap gear using mines. Thats a myth. There has been no recorded evidence of that ever being done, because mines DONT detonate when you step off of them, they detonate when you step on them activating a fuse. There are mines that can be pre set, but those require a much heavier weight on top of them. There are booby trapped grenades, but you would almost never find that in a city or town.

    6. Video for the villagers.
He can run safely on this field, anti-tank mines are shown, the pressing force must be more than 100 kg for detonation.

    7. Technically it depends on the type of minefield. If it’s an anti tank minefield then you can walk around perfectly fine as those require hundreds of pounds (I think like 600 usually) to activate. Because of this soldiers in the Russo Ukrainian war have been using them in ways unintended

    8. Thank you Mike for providing information that is going to be largely useless to the average American citizen, but is going to be very helpful to the citizens of any country we decide to invade- uh, I mean "assist"
