Julian McMahon, Nip/Tuck Star, Dead at 56 | E! News

Hollywood is mourning the loss of Julian McMahon. The actor died July 2nd in Clearwater, Florida following a private cancer battle at the age of 56. With his wife, Kelly Mcome confirming the news to deadline July 4th, saying, “With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband Julian Mcah died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.” Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work. And he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. She ends her statement saying, “We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.” Julian rose to TV fame as Dr. Christian Troy in Ryan Murphy’s plastic surgery drama Nip Tuck which ran on FX from 2003 to 2010 earning the Australianb born actor a Golden Globe nomination. He also found success on the big screen most notably as super villain Dr. Doom in 2005’s Fantastic 4 and its 2007 sequel Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Julian’s most recent acting credit was on Netflix’s murder mystery series The Residents, where he played fictional Australian prime minister Steven Ruse. A fitting role given his father, William McMahome, served as the country’s real prime minister in the early 1970s. Julian is survived by his wife, Kelly, and his 25-year-old daughter Madison Elizabeth Mcmahome, whom he shared with ex-wife Brooke Burns. [Music]
