The Emmy nominations are here and history is being made in several categories. Firstly, 15-year-old Owen Cooper is up for outstanding supporting actor in a limited or anthology series or movie. This honor for Owen’s role in the hit Netflix series Adolescence makes him the youngest ever nominee in the category. And if he were to win, he would become the youngest male actor to win any acting Emmy ever, surpassing Scott Jacobe, who won for the 1972 movie That Certain Summer at age 16. Even Hollywood legends like Kathy Bates and Harrison Ford are making Emmys history. This year, Kathy became the oldest person ever nominated in the lead drama actress category at age 77 for her role in the CBS reboot of Matt Blog. The record was previously held by Angela Lansbury, who was nominated at age 70 in 1996 for Murder She Wrote. Meanwhile, Harrison Ford is breaking his own record with his first ever nomination at the 2025 Emmy Awards for his role as Dr. Paul Rhodess in Shrinking. and Bella Ramsay, who was nominated for outstanding lead actress in a drama series for their role in The Last of Us for the second year in a row, made history as the first openly non-binary performer to earn more than one nomination from the television academy.
