Wendy Williams Makes Rare Appearance Amid Health Battles | E! News

Wendy Williams makes a rare public appearance for her 61st birthday. The former talk show host who was placed under a courtappointed guardianship in 2022 steps out for a belated birthday celebration at Peter Luger Steakhouse in New York City on July 20th. During the outing, Wendy flashes a wide grin as she dons a green and white patterned mini dress and carries a red leather handbag. Just 3 days earlier, Wendy, who shares son Kevin Hunter Jr. with ex-husband Kevin Hunter enjoys another evening out walking arm-in- arm with former Wendy Williams show producer Suzanne Bass. In a video obtained by TMZ, Wendy shares that for her birthday, she wishes to be out of guardianship. The TV star stepped away from her talk show in 2021 to treat a series of ongoing medical issues. Two years later, it was announced that Wendy was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and fronttotemporal dementia with her care team stating at the time that the conditions presented significant hurdles in Wendy’s life. But Wendy has pushed back against the diagnosis, setting the record straight after being hospitalized in March. During a phone interview from the hospital with Good Day New York, she says she received mental competency tests during her stay and passed with flying colors. [Music]
