Teen Mom Star Kailyn Lowry’s Son Rio Needs Surgery After Misdiagnosis | E! News

He developed what I thought was like a little hernia above his belly button. Kayn Lowry is detailing a nightmare experience as a mother. The Teen Mom star recently shared the 2-year-old will need a procedure to remove a mysterious growth on his stomach. Kayn explained on a July 21st episode of her coffee convos podcast with Lindsay Chrysley, noting she first thought it had developed from swim lessons. He developed what I thought was like a little hernia above his belly button. And I thought it was from the ISR swim lessons because he has to roll over and float on his back. And so I thought the stress of that created this like little lump that looked like a hernia. And Kayn, who shares Rio as well as her twins with ex- fiance Elijah Scott, noted that a doctor confirmed her theory that it was a hernia, but she became worried when it didn’t improve after several months. Over the past couple weeks, I’ve noticed this protruding out of his abdomen. So, I was like, I text Elijah. I’m like, “Hey, I got to I got to call the pediatrician and get him in for this cuz like at this point, like I don’t know what it it is worse than it was last year.” Kayla noted that when she brought Rio in more recently, the pediatrician immediately confirms that Rio’s bump was not a hernia after all and scheduled her son for an ultrasound. And the ultrasound came back and they’re like, “This is definitely not a hernia.” on the like chart thing that I logged into, it says uh renopform nodule in the area of interest consists consistent with lymph node. The differential include granuloma or complex cyst. Neoplasia cannot be exclude neoplasia cannot be excluded and neoplasia is a tumor. Mhm. So that cannot be excluded and obviously as a mom the first thing that my stomach sunk. while her son is going to get the care he needs. Kayn emphasized for her listeners to not repeat her own mistake. All this to say, um, when it comes to your health, check everything out because I really thought it was a hernia this whole time. They told me it was going to resolve itself. I didn’t ask for a second opinion. Um, and always just if you have access to medical treatment or care, like go check it out because now I’m like mom guilt. And then also just like the fact that neoplasia cannot be ruled out just freaked me out. [Music]
