Malcolm-Jamal Warner Death: Beyoncé & More React | E! News

    Beyonce, Tracy Ellis Ross, and more are reacting to the sudden death of Cosby Show star Malcolm Jamal Warner. In a post on her official site, the megastar singer shares a throwback photo of Malcolm from his days as a child star on the sitcom alongside text which reads, “Rest in power, Malcolm Jamal Warner. Thanks for being a part of our shared television history. You will be missed.” The actor who played Theo Huxable on the classic series alongside Bill Cosby is also honored by actress Tracy Ellis Ross who starred with Warner on the series Read Between the Lines. She writes, “I love you, Malcolm. First I met you as Theo with the rest of the world. Then you were my first TV husband. My heart is so so sad. What an actor and friend you were. Warm, gentle, present, kind, thoughtful, deep, funny, elegant.” Tracy adds, “You made the world a brighter place. sending so much love to your family. I’m so sorry for this unimaginable loss. NBA legend Irvin Magic Johnson posts his own tribute on X, mentioning his wife, saying, “Cookie and I are sad to hear about the passing of our dear friend Malcolm Jamal Warner. We were both super fans of the hit Cosby show and continued to follow his career on shows like Malcolm and Eddie and the Resident. Every time I ran into Malcolm, we would have deep and fun conversations about basketball, life, and business. In addition, Brian Austin Green calls Warner one of the nicest people I was ever honored enough to know in a post on his Instagram story. News broke July 21st that the actor had died from an accidental drowning in Costa Rica. Costa Rican National Police later confirmed to ABC News that Warner’s cause of death was esphixia. Malcolm Jamal Warner was 54 years old. [Applause] [Music]
