Ted Lasso Seemingly Loses Main Cast Members Ahead of Season 4 | E! News

AFC Richmond will be missing a familiar face when Ted Lasso returns. Production is officially underway and Phil Dunster has left the Apple TV Plus comedy. The streamer confirmed in a July 21 press release. Returning for the new season are main cast members Jason Sedakus, Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple, Brendan Hunt, Hannah Wattingham, and Jeremy Swift, who will be joined by season 4 newcomers Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, FA Marzy, Rex Hayes, Ailing Shy, Abby Hearn, and Grant Feelely, who is stepping in as Ted’s son Henry. However, Phil, who portrayed English soccer star Jamie Tart as a series regular during the show’s first three seasons, was noticeably absent from the announcement. And he wasn’t alone. Several other key cast members, including Nick Muhammad, who plays Nate Shelley, Sarah Niles who plays Dr. Sharon Fieldstone, Anthony Hed who plays Rupert Manion, Tohib Jamo who plays Sam Obisagna, James Lance who plays Trent Crim, Christo Fernandez who plays Danny Roas, Cola Bokeini who plays Isaac Mika Duend, Billy Harris who plays Colin Hughes weren’t named, meaning their fates on the show are seemingly up in the air as well. When asked about his fate, Nick said on the comedian’s comedian podcast June 19th, I I think I might be in it. don’t know is the honest answer. I I genuinely not sure. Well, now I feel bad because I felt like an like an interrogator. I’d seized the whole thing. No, I think it’s fair to say I’ve had dates checked, but I’ve not but I haven’t seen any scripts and there’s no and and like Jason and and that whole team were really honest at the start when I mean I knew for ages it was going again but like um uh and I knew it was going to be centered around the women’s football team but um you know as a as a result there’s a whole host of rightly so you know a whole host of new characters and what they don’t want to do is try and sort of keep everyone in it and have a whole host of new characters cuz otherwise every episode will be like 90 minutes. So uh there will have to be some priorities and you know a good deal of us didn’t have our extend uh our option extended you know [Music]
