You Have 40 Seconds To Survive!
[Music] If you wake up and your house is filled with smoke, you have 40 seconds to survive. First, don’t stand up. Most people panic and bolt upright, but that’s the dead zone. The smoke up there will knock you out in seconds. Instead, drop to the ground and breathe near the floor because that’s where the last clean air is. Next, check the door handle using the back of your hand. If it’s hot, don’t open it. There might be more fire outside. If it’s cool, open it slowly while staying low. When you get outside the room, close the door behind you to slow the fire down. We got 20 seconds till this place burns down. If you’re still inside, don’t stop moving. The biggest mistake people make is they try to run. Just stay low and move as fast as you can. Of course, the staircase is on fire. If your way down is blocked, get to a window. If you’re trapped, get visible. Use anything you can to get people’s attention. A flashlight, a bright piece of clothing, anything that stands out. We’ve got someone second window east side. Ok so typically there should be a window in your bedroom, is it not smarter to shatter that window and crawl out of it either on the roof or to "remain visible?" It would also probably clear smoke as well
