I’ve made a document with all known celebrities who’ve spoken out about genocide in Gaza, when they first did so, and examples of their quotes. Spread this around and let people create / add to it. The future needs to know who took a stand and to what degree.

    1. Can we add Lowkey before Oct 2023, he’s never stopped calling out the genocide in Palestine 🍉

    2. LazyMeteor777 on

Normalize giving flowers to the ones who risk their platforms for truth. This list is a start.

    3. This “list” is very US-centric, and I know for a fact both Kneecap and Massive Attack are inaccurate.

    4. Kneecap has been flying the literal and figurative flag for Palestine since they started gigging almost 10 years ago; we are at *hundreds* of mentions at this point.

    5. katykat45820 on

I think Kneecap has been speaking out about Palestine for a long time, even before Oct.7. If I’m not wrong, I think they’ve been funding a youth gym there since 2022 actually

    6. BewareOfGrom on

edit 2: Ben Affleck, JLO, Riz Ahmed, John Legend, Dua Lipa, Hozier, Sami Zayn, CM punk,

edit 3: gah I hate to admit it but Drake did sign that ceasefire letter

    7. I think you are missing Mark Ruffalo. He has been speaking about Palestine for years

    8. Calm-Bell-3188 on

It seems a bit short. But I get the need for the future to know this. Nice work.

    9. Borgo_San_Jacopo on

Several of the people on this list have been outspoken about Palestinian liberation long before the events of October 2023.

    10. Hunter Schafer literally got arrested for protesting for gaza at the late night show lobby.

    11. ponkie_donkie on

Hailey Bieber also has been sharing and donating since 2023! With the latest one being just yesterday

    12. Repulsive_Music_7145 on

Also add Nicola coughlan, who has constantly been open in supporting palestine and fundraising.

    13. UnintentionalWipe on

It’s interesting to see how a lot of UK celebrities spoke out about the genocide early one. Especially compared to their US counterparts.

    14. Vicryl_four-oh on

Bassem Yousself should also be on the list

As should King Philippe of the Belgians

    16. Gracie Abrams shared posts donating to Palestinian causes as early as late 23/early 24

    17. Equal_Environment_90 on

I’m sorry but Brian Eno has been outspoken about Gaza since 2006. Maybe even before.

    18. Nice, but part of me feels like we need zionist version of the list so we know who to condemn/boycott

    19. Due-Secret-3091 on

      On Instagram, celebrities like:

      Florence Pugh

      Mae Whitman

      Alex Fine (Cassie’s husband)

      Dule Hill

      Sofia Black Delia

      Ruth Kearney (Theo James’ wife)

      Caitriona Balfe

      Annabelle Wallis

      Aneurin Barnard

Repost resources or show support on their social media for Palestine. Calling it what it is- a genocide in Gaza.

    20. 2TrucksHoldingHands on

I think this is a great initiative, I just wanted to add that [Roger Waters has been criticizing Israel for a while now](https://www.timesofisrael.com/wiesenthal-center-slams-barclaycard-for-roger-waters-hate-filled-gig/).

ETA would also include people from lists like this one [https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2018/sep/07/boycott-eurovision-song-contest-hosted-by-israel](https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2018/sep/07/boycott-eurovision-song-contest-hosted-by-israel) This didn’t start on October 2023.

    21. Tim Heidecker called it a genocide on David Cross’ podcast last year & he’s continued to speak out against it

    22. I would hesitate to keep a list like this. This feels like it could go sideways very fast.

    23. Sparklethenfade on

Bob Vylan has been speaking out on Palestine for years.

The Hadid sisters have been receiving death threats over their pro Palestine stance as far back as 2015.

    24. I get where you’re coming from and it’s good to know who is brave enough to stand up for something this important but I also feel like some people are getting a little too fixated on celebrity opinions when that’s not really that important in the scheme of things.

I think some folks feel that praising “good” celebs and condemning zionists counts as activism but it doesn’t really accomplish much other than coming off as internet posturing. If these celebs are donating to the cause it would be a lot more beneficial to celebrate that by following suit and donating yourself if you can, or sharing links if you can’t.

Idk I just don’t know how useful it is to get hung up on stuff like this. And even then if you want to do it, this list is missing some pretty prominent and vocal advocates. Also citing sources for lists like these is important, I’ve seen similar lists about “problematic authors” or whatever and some of the information on the list was straight up misinformation.

    25. dramatic_exit_49 on

This is not an accurate list, making me uncomfortable, What does estimated mentions even mean? Like Melissa Barrera has been consistently vocal and active but her number count is 1?

    26. ComprehensiveDog1802 on

How is Macklemore not on this list. He made a whole ass song about Gaza.

    27. keepitupstairs2 on

“The future needs to know who took a stand and to what degree.” – I’m not so sure I agree, to the extent that it doesn’t really make sense to me to look to celebs to be the moral arbiters of anything. Wouldn’t a list focusing on politicians who actually have the power to change something be more relevant?
