The way I worshipped all these girlies. Little gay boy’s first larger than life divas.

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind and a very underrated movie Saving face by Alice Wu was also released in 2004

I would love SO much for this generation of young girls for there to be films that are geared towards them, that aren’t condescending, that are well-written and have true pathos. I remember watching Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen when I was about 8? and just fell in love with the film’s emphasis on individuality and carrying yourself with deserved confidence. Also don’t get me started on New York Minute, I wore my copy of the novelisation OUT on family road trips.

As a girlie who was 13/14 that year, all these movies were made with me as the target audience. So you’re welcome if you enjoy any of these titles that were specifically produced with me in mind.

I had no idea they all came out in the same year, damn. Truly an iconic year
