Robin Roberts reveals why she’s been absent from Good Morning America. The longtime TV anchor is addressing her temporary departure from the morning show in an Instagram carousel from Halfway Around the World. Robin shares a photo of her and her wife Amber announcing the couple are on a service trip in Rwanda to celebrate young basketball players across Africa. The TV icon adds that their trip is also in recognition of a recent milestone, saying, “Wonderful way for the two of us to celebrate 20 years as a couple. It certainly has been an adventure. Sharing a different view from the joyous day, Robin also uploads a clip of her wife dancing along with the group, writing, “No matter where we are in the world, she hears music and she’s just got to dance. Never a dull moment with this one.” She adds the hashtag, “Happy wife, happy life.” The pair met on a blind date in 2005 and tied the knot in September 2023. Prior to the trip, Robin did a Thankful Thursday video alongside her glam fam in honor of her 20th anniversary with Amber, which fell on July 26th. Speaking of sacred relationships, Saturday. 20 years. 20 years that I’ve been a couple with Amber. 20 years. That deserves. All right. And counting. So, we’re going away. I’m going abroad.
