This is all anyone wants to hear. Peak romance to me.

I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.
Honestly that line and that scene in EEAAO genuinely made me melt. The way it was delivered in the middle of everything else happening in the film was just so lovely.

Not a line but I thought the speech in The Old Guard in response to them mocking the ‘boyfriend’ was really lovely.
>He’s not my boyfriend. This man is more to me than you can dream. He’s the moon when I’m lost in darkness and warmth when I shiver in cold. And his kiss still thrills me, even after a millennia. His heart overflows with the kindness of which this world is not worth of. I love this man beyond measure and reason. He’s not my boyfriend. He’s all and he’s more.

I don’t know about the most romantic of all but I’m fond of “I have loved you my whole life. I’ve never loved anyone but you. You were my great, consuming love. And most people don’t get one of those. I did.” from “Fellow Travelers”. This show is so heart-wrenching from start to finish but so good, bittersweet & educational – I can’t recommend enough.

The “I love you” at the end of *Carol*. It’s not the words, it’s how they look at each other when Carol says it and Therese hears it.
Not a line, but the Page 28 scene at the end of *Portrait of a Lady on Fire* absolutely kills me. One of the most yearning and painfully romantic scenes ever.

Obviously it technically originally comes from a book but:
“If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more.” from Emma
I think it feels more romantic to me because it feels more real. When you really love someone, it can be a terrifying thing, and this feels like something a real person might say, not someone in a film or a book or a tv show
It’s not the most romantic ever, but I just watched it last night so it’s fresh in my mind.
I’m in the middle of the second season of Andor and Bix and Cassian in love is so beautiful. She’s so fractured from the events of season one and he cares about her so deeply. The scene with the hands before he goes on a mission is beautiful and tender.
Just makes me think of what it is to love a person while living in a system of oppression, to want to protect them from harm.

Far from a favourite show or character, but this one speech by Ted in How I Met Your Mother has stayed with me for years- he says it when he’s imagining what he would do if he could go back in time and meet “The Mother” just a little sooner:
“Hi. I’m Ted Mosby. And exactly forty-five days from now, you and I are gonna meet. And we’re gonna fall in love. And we’re gonna get married, and… we’re gonna have two kids. And we’re gonna love them and each other so much. All that is forty-five days away. But I’m here now, I guess, because I want those extra forty-five days. With you, I want each one of them. Look, and if I can’t have them, I’ll take the forty-five seconds before your boyfriend shows up and punches me in the face, because… I love you. I’m always gonna love you. ‘Til the end of my days, and beyond. You’ll see.”

It’s not exactly a line, but there’s a scene in Lars and the Real Girl where Lars’ brother is worried about Lars and sitting next to his wife on the couch. She opens her arms to him and he just kind of silently collapses into her while she holds him and he tells her about his worries. I love this scene so much because it’s such a unique perspective of deep love where the man is being vulnerable and taken care of.

“If you were in an accident, I wouldn’t stop for red lights.” From the West Wing.
( For context, Donna has an ex that she finally broke it off with for good when she was in a car accident and he stopped for a beer with his buddies. When Josh, her boss/friend/crush, finds out about it, he tells her, “I’m just saying, if you were in an accident, I wouldn’t stop for a beer.” She replies with the above. It’s said so matter-of-factly but because it’s said that way it’s DEVASTATING, especially since Josh had only very recently survived a shooting.)
There’s tons of ways the West Wing gets love right, platonically or otherwise (A man falls down a hole, Toby’s heart gestures, Jed/Abby’s flirtatious bickering, the fucking Thanksgiving knife) but this line always sticks out to me for being IT. when the person you love is hurt, you don’t stop for red lights.
