Kamala Harris: “For now, I don’t wanna go back in the system. I think it’s broken. […] I always believed that as fragile as our democracy is, our systems would be strong enough to defend our most fundamental principles and I think right now, they’re not as strong as they need to be.”

I think things would be different………
I like Kamala, with the super short time she had she was able to drive a small movement against her. Not everyone could have done that.
That said, we need someone significantly stronger or significantly more charismatic to have any hope over overthrowing the Nazis pedophiles.
Got anymore clips?
I get it 🤷🏾♀️. As a black woman…I get it.
I appreciate her saying this! It sounds like she’s not running for any office, period, which I didn’t expect, but maybe is for the best overall? Very interested to see what her next chapter is!
I hope she runs for President. Her early defeat in the primary will be at least a crumb of comfort for everyone she abandoned and betrayed by doing nothing but the bidding of billionaires in ’24.
She would have been 1000x better then Trump. But she is one of the people that broke the system.
Devout to who? You’ve stated one foreign entity.
Colbert’s audience can be so annoying. I’m not raring to bash Harris, but none of the things said here deserved whoops and cheers – least of all the prospect of her running again.
I’m wearing headphones and people gasped when she said the system is broken. Maybe she just woke up some folks who needed to hear that no one is coming to save us. We gotta do the damn thing ourselves.
Except her entire 107 day presidential campaign was catered towards people who wanted the broken system and away from people who wanted to change it. We stillremember the DNC, Kamala “Not A Thing Different From Joe” Harris.
I agree, a campaign that tried to appeal to the right by platforming the Cheneys and promised to be tougher on borders than Trump is definitely an indication of a broken system
The system is not broken. The system is working for exactly who it was designed for
As much as i object to her record as a prosecutor, and much of what she allowed to happen as part of the Biden administration, I think this is very well said. It does seem to me that more mainstream liberals are finally waking up to just how fucked up our government is. Whether it will lead to any actual change in her politics, i don’t know, but it was good to hear her acknowledge this
I supported Kamala. I followed her, promoted her, voted for her. And while I still believe Trump didn’t win that election fairly, I’m a bit disappointed in how absent she’s been. But is now resurfacing for book promo 🤔
I’m not denying the intense scrutiny and vitriol she faced during her campaign. Black women, especially, carry a disproportionate amount of this country’s weight on their backs. I’m not ignoring that. I just don’t think it’s unfair to say: if you ask to lead the country, and 70+ million people believe in you enough to say yes, there’s a certain expectation of continued visibility and leadership, even after a loss.
She was positioned as the face of the future. So to see her go quiet during such a volatile and dangerous time has not gone unnoticed. We needed her voice.
I think it’s also important to remember that the US is not a democracy, haven’t been for a long long time.
She’s gonna fight the system by speaking at Raytheon’s Christmas party for $400,000
