It has to be devastating to lose anyone, but there’s an extra layer when there was a possibility and hope of reconciliation that was ripped away. There’s never closure, just an empty box of hope vanished.

I was working a summer camp in downtown Toronto during college (c. 2011?) and one week, Matilda Ledger happened to be enrolled as her mum was filming something in the city that summer. At that time, she was maybe 4 or 5 years old, an adorable lil thing that was the spitting image of her father… and I couldn’t help but think what beautiful solace Matilda must have brought to everyone grieving the loss of her father.

I understand that her life is public and she will be asked questions about it. But, why would you choose to broach this topic obviously knowing that it makes her sad? This could have been left out, I feel.
