i just want it on record that this is, without any doubt, the worst show i have ever seen

it’s actually a testament to how iconic ‘sex and the city’ is because they managed to squeeze 3 season out of this monstrosity

big is so lucky he died on that peloton

I liked the minor note of grief in Carrie in this show, but the writing undermined itself and neutralized the natural melancholy. There was an opportunity to build something actually beautiful and lived in around loss and aging, but instead we got five circuses under one tent.

As someone who has stopped watching this show, I will miss all the podcasts I listen to that hate-watch it, reviewing it. Always made me laugh more than the actual show.

You sure you don’t want to kill off Lisa Todd Wexley’s dad another time or two before we call it?

    5. Oh no! I have to say that, like many others, it has become my favorite show to hate watch. What makes me the most sad (or should I say mad lol) about it, is that the original was so refreshing about women’s lives and relationships (until it devolved into all about shoes and clothes). They could have done such a better job reflecting older women’s lives and relationships. A real waste, but yet I’ll keep watching to the very end!

The first two seasons of SATC were so witty, well-written and ballsy. And all the subsequent SATC seasons were endlessly entertaining – And Just Like That was so vapid, it was like MPK was playing dolls with these rich women characters he effectively turned into caricatures with endless funds and who seemingly were dropped into the 2020s from 1999. Utterly bizarre.

They had the chance to show the dynamic, interesting life and times of a female author in her 50s and instead they had her chase after men and exhibit no personality whatsoever. What a waste! I don’t count any of it as canon. The show and their stories ended in 2008 with the first movie as far as I’m concerned lol

It’s been time to move on from. The show. Sjp needs to find something different and iconic than just Carrie. It’s been timeto move on.

On the one hand, thank god, on the other hand I’m going to miss hate watching lol

I’ll be the dissenter then – I loved watching this ridiculous and mind numbing show. Was it good? No. Did I watch every episode? Yes.

    10. As much as it’s hated on, I have been watching every episode of this show as they drop. It’s nice to escape our current world and sit in frivolity for 45 minutes. I will say that season 3 has gotten better, and I found myself laughing at the latest episode (Giuseppe as a marionette!), which I feel like I haven’t done in a long time.

Also, there aren’t that many shows that feature older women as sexual beings. As bad as the script can be, I’m gonna miss this show when it ends.

I’m still convinced that this show was only made because SJP wanted to try and change people’s perception of Carrie after years of negative retrospective analysis.

Is that a little rainbow of refracted light on MPK’s note? Perhaps from a pane of 200 year old glass?

    13. I can’t believe they decimated Aidan and Miranda‘s characters just for three seasons of this half-assedly written mid show.

My guess is they finally realized that it’s not worth continuing to destroy the SATC legacy when AJLT didn’t get a single Emmy nomination 2 weeks ago and they’re constantly being mocked. (I guess improving the writing wasn’t an option.)

Somewhere Chris Noth must be fuming because he probably never would have been called out for sexual harassment if AJLT never happened.
