Sarah Jessica Parker Breaks Silence on And Just Like That Ending | E! News
And just like that, Carrie Bradshaw is saying goodbye. Series creator Michael Patrick King revealed the Sex in the City spin-off starring Sarah Jessica Parker, which premiered on HBO Max in 2021, will end after the current third season in a two-part finale, bringing the total episode count to 12. He writes in an August first Instagram post, quote, “And just like that, the ongoing storytelling of the Sex in the City universe is coming to an end.” While I was writing the last episode of End Just Like That season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop. Michael explained why he and Sarah, who has played Carrie since 1998, and other showrunners waited until mid-season to share the shocking news. He adds, quote, “SgP and I held off on announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word final to overshadow the fun of watching the season. It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years. Following the announcement, Sarah, who reprised her role in the franchise alongside Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis, looked back on her iconic character’s lasting impact. In a long Instagram post August 1st, next to a super cut of her time on both series, Sarah narrates, Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all. I know others have loved her just as I have been frustrated, condemned, and rooted for her. The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion, therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and lifetime of debt to you all. [Music]

The show SUCKS!!😂
Not shocking to me. Carrie was mean and a user. The show was very poorly written with weak character development. And there was no Samantha.
Let's face it. The show was terrible! While I am sad the chapter on the characters is ending. I'm not sad that the horrendous writers of the show are out of a job.
I like them ❤
Can we keep going just use AI?
This god awful show ruined the legacy of the original series and movies. They should’ve just cancelled it after the first season. There was nothing great this show brought except for a few side characters
Very disappointing! The series had SUCH GREAT characters!
Good riddance. This spinoff was garbage.
Thank goodness.
But for me, AJLT didn't happen. It ended with SITC movie 2. 😊
It’s obvious, no one is seeing that S* they broke everything they build
I knew that show was not the same they should of just kept it how it was on past because Samantha was the key of that show along with the rest of the girls is sad that they tried so hard to make us like the show and it was not good
Barf
Now people can stop complaining.
THANK GOD THIS TRASH IS GOING AWAY!!!!!!!! This crap should never have been rebooted.
Love these characters so much!
It was good that it even lasted for three seasons. Most reboots don't even last that long so they did good. I think one of the longest running reboots was Full House and they only lasted four seasons.
At least they're getting a proper farewell, alot of shows don't even get that.
I am going to miss it
I have enjoyed all the characters since S&TC began
I thoroughly enjoyed every episode
I have not watched any episodes of this season. I lost interest in the show because it was boring and unrealistic.
I think the show without Samantha was boring.
What a complete farce from beginning to end. We all should have known it when Kim Cattrall refused to return and then they killed off Big followed by walking all over Chris Noth, showing zero support or loyalty. This show is full of narcissists who have nothing but self interest at heart. I am so glad they have canned it. And I am sure if they could have gone on they would have gone on. MPK is the King of narcissists and SJP is the Queen! Off with their heads!
no samantha, not watching.
It was over seasons ago.
Glad that the producers and cast of Friends were against its reboot.
Noooooooooooo!
Never watched this new version! I don’t believe I missed anything. They ruined the show when they went all PC. Huge mistake when they killed off Big & wrote out the Samantha character. She made that show! I never did care for the character of Aiden. Too weak, too boring & the nerve of her looking for mega houses to make him & his kids feel at home & with Big’s money at that!!! Nah! It lost its luster long ago!!!
I wish Sarah would have put aside her pride and let Samantha be in it. What I didn’t like about Carrie’s character in the reboot was that she was a btch to people.
I think this season of AJLT was great!!!! Wished I could see more of the characters they added
