Sophia Carson has been crowned Netflix’s first movie star and she’s just getting started. She not only stars in, but also produced her latest project, My Oxford Year. And we caught up with her and her co-star to talk about the new romance. Take a look. We have a student all the way from New York. New York. New York. Welcome. Welcome. Flirting with the hot teacher on the first day. No, I uh Oh, no. I love it. Talk to me about that experience for you executive producing and performing in the same project. It was a really beautiful experience to be a part of like the world building of a project and mo more so just to be given a seat at the table and be a decision maker. I think that you did splendid other than the the famous tantrum that you had. Right. Right. That one famous tantrum. If you have time then there’s something that I’d like to show you. I think it’s quite special. Behold the inner sanctum. [Music] This is just fun. All right. Fun. Fun. So fun. So fun. I want to talk about the um I guess the slogan of the film. A single year can change your life. Has there been a moment or a year in your life that like really changed for things for you whether it’s personally or professionally where things just crystallize. It was my second year at drama school for me. Um they they often call it the the the breakthrough year. That was I just lots of things acting training wise uh clicked for me and I was like, “Oh, okay. I think this is the actor that I want to be.” You don’t need to try and fix my life. Some things are just broken. A succession of moments is really all we have. And I want mine to be with you. I would say this last year for me has been that in a lot of ways. Um it’s been a really extraordinary year. uh very validating as an artist and um I feel very proud of I guess the path that I’m walking on. [Music]
