Did Martha Stewart SHADE Meghan Markle? Royal Expert weighs in

Martha Stewart has seemingly taken a notso subtle dig at Meghan Markle in news that we were all waiting for for many months now. Since Megan launched her business as ever, she has been effectively trying to carve out a role for herself as something of a lifestyle guru, which has unsurprisingly garnered comparisons to both Martha and Gwyneth Paltro. Well, now Martha is giving us the tea that we have all been dreaming of, speaking out about Megan and Gwyneith to give her opinion on their respective businesses. And it’s safe to say that she doesn’t hold Megan in much esteem. At least according to an interview that she did just a few days ago in which she admitted that while she doesn’t know Megan very well, she hopes that she, and I quote, knows what she’s talking about. Martha went on to note that authenticity, particularly in this kind of business, is extremely important, hinting that she hopes Megan manages to find authenticity at some point. As for Gwyneith, however, Martha was full of praise, saying that the Goop founder has been incredibly successful in carving out a very important business. Martha wasn’t necessarily negative about Megan, although she wasn’t quick to praise her. But I think when you compare the quotes she gave about Megan versus Gwyneith, it’s pretty easy to read between Martha’s lines. Now, for most people, Martha is the pioneering lifestyle guru. She has done it all. She’s done TV shows. She’s done cookbooks. She’s done platear. She’s done recipe guides. She’s got a magazine. She’s got a website. She’s pretty much ticked off everything you can imagine on the lifestyle influencer bucket list. And while Gwyneith has done a great many of those things also, she’s kind of gone her own direction, opting for a more granola brand of lifestyle expertise, including yoni eggs. I won’t tell you what those are, just look them up. Sex toys, and all manner of other more risque elements to the whole healthy lifestyle. Megan, on the other hand, has opted for a much more traditional route, following very much in Martha’s footsteps. Thus far, we’ve only seen a few tidbits of what she has promised her As ever brand is going to bring. We’ve had a jam. We’ve had some wine. We’ve had rainbow cookies, flower sprinkles, and a few other products here and there. All of which have promptly sold out every time they’ve been released online. She’s also attempted to carve out a role for herself as an on-screen lifestyle guru courtesy of her Netflix show With Love Megan, which FYI failed to perform as well as a lot of Martha’s previous projects have. In fact, I’m pretty sure that footage of Martha Stewart watching horses compete at the Olympics alongside Snoop Dogg may have outdone Megan’s show in the ratings, but I’ll leave it to you guys to check those figures. However, there are a lot of comparisons to be drawn between Martha and Megan. So Martha’s less than positive opinion of the Duchess of Sussex is sure to hit where it hurts. This isn’t the first time that Martha has been asked about Megan, which is perhaps unsurprising given the many similarities that have been pointed out between the two women. Back in April during an interview with Access Hollywood, Martha was asked whether she had yet seen Megan’s Netflix series, to which Martha replied, “Has it started?” Not exactly the news you want to hear when a show is being as highly publicized as Megan’s was. Still, Martha appeared willing to give Megan the benefit of the doubt, saying that she was curious about how she was going to do and noting that she would give the Duchess of Sussex one episode in order to make a mark. Interestingly though, we have yet to hear what Martha really thought. So, I’ll leave it to you guys to decide what her review was.
