Is that even her in the video? I haven’t seen an ad this tone deaf since the Kendall Jenner Pepsi ad a few years ago.
The responses by American Eagle to the negative reaction are telling.
This was their planned strategy:
Tweak people by being racist (in a deniable way, just like the 4chan losers with their ‘ok’ hand signal).
Then do the denials to get right wingers fired up with a story and thinking (or pretending to think) of AE and what’s-her-name as victims.
Keep pushing it.
Suck in right wing $$ for the ~~genes~~ jeans and audiences for what’s-her-name because now the right wing audiences/consumers understand that she/AE are on the side of white power, though they’ll never say so, and they’ll think supporting her/their brand is owning the libs.
This is now an advertising strategy.
