Anybody has to be better than Keira Knightly in this role!

Fun story: I met Emma Corrin via some makeup friends and got confused and thought they were Emma D’Arcy and I gushed and told them that my favourite drink was a Negroni Sbagliato with Prosecco in it. I was MORTIFIED.
Also I’m dead excited to see this rendition of Pride and Prejudice. I hope it airs over Christmas so I can watch this whilst giving myself gout via Brie and port.

How many times we gonna do this movie? Surely Jane Austen had other books

I was hoping the dog was cast too

I don’t want to have high hopes and then be dissapointed but it actually looks promising.

Pride and Prejudice again? What are they gonna call it? Pride and Prejudice: Far from Home? Is Bryan Singer gonna come in and undo the last three versions?

So far I retain my loyalty to the 1995 miniseries. Nothing has touched it as far as P&P is concerned IMO.Â
I’ll give every Austen adaptation a chance though.Â
I’m one of the losers that keeps giving people money for the 968th remake.Â
Edit: meanwhile, elsewhere I’ve complained about the no-new-stories problem that movie makers seem to be having.Â
Oh well. I guess some old stories will keep drawing me in.Â

me & the 2005 version are married but i will still flirt with this.

It’ll never be as good as the best adaptation which is, of course, the BBC Radio 4 version from 2014.

imo the 2005 version is almost untoppable. I’ve read P&P more times than I can count and went in expecting to hate it but it captured the essence of the book *perfectly* while still feeling fresh and different. But I will give this version a try!

I hope the dog is in the movie, too!

i’m preparing for the worst, emma corrin is a great actor but the entire cast is way too old for the characters they are playing.
adding 10 years to all the characters makes no sense with the plot

Do the kids need their own version of the perfection that was the 2005 adaptation? In my mind it was definitive but maybe every generation needs one.Â

I know people are tired of remakes and I generally am too, but I’m excited for this. I also think it must be so fun as an actor to step into such a well established role that has been done before by other great actors.

reminder that Emma uses they/them pronouns 🙂
this will either be horrible or great, no in-between. the only certainty is that I’ll be watching either way
