Soulja Boy Arrested on Weapons Charge During L.A. Traffic Stop | E! News

    Soja Boy is facing legal trouble. The rapper has been arrested in Los Angeles on a felony weapon charge. The Los Angeles Police Department confirms to EN that on August 3rd at around 2:35 a.m. officers made a traffic stop near the intersection of Melrose and Janice Avenues in the Fairfax district. A passenger in the vehicle later identified a Soulja Boy whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Wei was detained and then arrested on the charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Inmate records viewed by E! News show the 35-year-old was booked at the LAPD Metropolitan Detention Center later that morning. However, it is unclear if he is still in custody. E! Newews has reached out to Soulja Boy rep for comment, but hasn’t yet heard back. This news for the rapper comes just days after he celebrated his 35th birthday with the Grammy nominated artist taking to Instagram July 28th to mark the special day, sharing a pic of himself captioning the post, “Another year, more blessings, more wins, more life.” Thank you to everybody who’s been rocking with me.     1. The mere presence of a gun does not constitute a crime, this dude, like everyone else, has the constitutional right to carry a gun to defend himself. All this crap about permits, prohibited people, exclusion zones, etc, is bs. The cops want to carry them to keep themselves alive all the way until they die of old age. In fact they demanded it and got a law past. And they arenโ€™t subject to the same rules and criteria to maintain. Iโ€™m sick of the hypocrisy, I donโ€™t wanna hear how dangerous their job is. Life is dangerous anymore, and we all are our own first responders. Dealing with whatever happens long before they can get there most times.
