Olympians Noah Lyles, Kenny Bednarek Have Physical Altercation at Race

That’s Noah Lyall side eyeing Kenny Benaric as his fellow Olympian pushed him postra followed by Noah seen telling Kenny, “I expect my apology.” The athletic adversaries ran side by side August 3rd at the USA track and field championships. While Kenny’s previously bested Noah twice in the same event, Noah this time took a last second lead with the winner sneaking a look over at Kenny as he crossed the finish line leading to his shove on the racetrack. Kenny calling the move unsportsmanlike and later told reporters, “Noah is going to be Noah. It’s a respect factor.” The grand summary is, “Don’t do that to me.” The two were also spotted sharing a tense convo with both sprinters agreeing to talk off the track as the pair pushed pause on their standoff to pose for trophy photos. Kenny saying to the gathered media, “At the end of the day, he won the race, so I’ve got to give him props. He was the better man today.” Meanwhile, Noah and Kenny could compete yet again with the World Championships in Tokyo taking place in September. As for Kenny’s final word, telling Noah he can pick up the phone to squash their beef. It’s just some personal stuff that we got to handle. At the end of the day, he can call me whenever. We can discuss it and we should be good.

Kenny Bednarek shoved fellow Olympic runner Noah Lyles after their race at the USA Track and Field Championships. Lyles—who won their 200m final event on Aug. 3—looked over at Bednarek as he crossed the finish line, leading to their altercation just seconds later on the track.
