The Walking Dead Actress Kelley Mack’s Cause of Death Revealed | E! News

Kelly Mac’s family is sharing more details about her untimely death. Two days after it was revealed that The Walking Dead alum, who appeared as Addie in season 9 of the AMC series, had tragically passed, her family confirmed in an August 6th statement to the New York Times that she died from an aggressive tumor that attacked her central nervous system. One day prior, Kelly’s sister, Catherine, shared that she died on August 2nd at age 33. She captioned in an August 5th Instagram post, “It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelly. Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond where we all eventually must go.” Prior to her passing, Kelly revealed that she was battling a rare type of cancerous brain tumor called diffuse midline glyoma, which develops in the midline structures of the brain, such as the brain stem, phalamus, and spinal cord. According to the Mayo Clinic, as part of her cancer journey, she underwent a difficult surgery that required her to relearn how to walk. Kelly captioned a January Instagram post that featured a picture of herself smiling from a hospital bed due to the biopsy surgery on my spinal cord. I have lost the use of my right leg and most of my left leg, so I now get around with a walker in a wheelchair. Two months later, the 911 alum shared she had been making progress on moving around on her own. She wrote along a March Instagram video of herself walking with the help of her boyfriend Logan. I’ve been up and down these stairs now two times in the past few days. It’s a big deal for me. Life has also had its ups and downs lately. Am I right? Following her passing, Catherine reflected on the impact her sister had and continues to have on others. Catherine continued, “Kelly has already come to many other loved ones in the form of various butterflies. She will be missed by so many to depths that words cannot express.
