On 6 August 2025, Obeid was shot and killed by Israeli forces in Gaza while waiting for humanitarian aid.

Alongside the several thousands of other killings, I imagine this death would have been really devastating and infuriating (towards the football associations) for Mo Salah as a footballer. Glad he’s speaking up

We are literally living through another global holocaust. It’s so awful I can’t wake up thinking about it anymore. Except you do because no humans deserve this. None NONE.

It’s astonishing to me that we can be living through this as one of the most wealthy countries in the world. I have separated myself from so many friends and family who believe we are somehow “defending America” by deporting all the housekeepers kitchen workers and landscapers who already work for them courteously serving them every day.

FIFA publicly banned Russia and its clubs from any competition after invading Ukraine but aren’t doing the same for Israel. Goes to show how much value brown skin has.

As a Liverpool fan, all I can say is finally!!! He used to be a lot more outspoken previously so he must have been under a lot of pressure to stay quiet but glad he’s finally speaking on it again.
