    Amy Schumer Shares Update on Her Recovery After Back Surgery

    Amy Schumer is sharing an important health update. After the comedian revealed she had undergone back surgery, she’s now giving fans more insight into the procedure as well as her recovery. Sharing a pic of herself posing with a walker on Instagram August 8th, captioning it, “Since my surfing injury back in the day, my L5 has been killing me. Today I got a laminctomy.” Amy then ends the post with a bit of humor, saying, “It’s a short recovery, and when I’m feeling better, I will buy a bra.” According to John Hopkins Medicine, a lemonctomy is a surgical procedure to create more space in the spinal canal in order to relieve pressure on the spinal cord and nerves. This update from the 44year-old comes shortly after she announced she was in the hospital recovering from the surgery. Posting a selfie from her hospital bed to her IG stories August 8th, writing overheard postback surgery. Pickle ball keeps this place in business. And this isn’t the first time Amy has opened up about her chronic back issues. with the train wreck star previously detailing in a September 2018 IG post about seven months ago I was in excruciating back and hip pain from old volleyball and surfing injuries I have a herniated disc, a bulging disc, and a lateral tear in my hip. Amy then shares she received an epidural to manage the pain and worked hard with trainers to regain her strength, saying, “These great people nursed me back to health and made me stronger than ever. You don’t have to live with pain. Do the work to feel better. It’s worth it. I know I’m lucky. I have the time and money to heal. Everyone should be entitled to great care. Everyone. Period. [Music]

      Laminectomy is easy peazy. I had to have a double decompression and fusion with hardware in my lumbar spine with a lumbar laminectomy and two rods in my lumbar spine for scoliosis. I had an amazing recovery with NO pain and didn’t use the walker except to help me stand up the first week I was home.

      I have 9 bulging/herniated discs and thats not even everything. I have adhesive arachnoiditis, instability from my skull, a brain herniation called chiari 1 malformation, arthritis through almost my entire spine, sclerosis in my SI joints which are bone spurs fusing them together and rotoscoliosis.
      4 surgeries. 1 massive laminectomy they removed almost all the bone from the back of my L5/S1, 3 of them spinal fusions with massive recoveries that required a week in the hospital each.
      She is so annoying. I wish i just had A herniated disc. I was also a surfer in high school, this woman has never surfed and you cant convince me. She probably went surfing once and hurt herself. My eyes are rolling so hard they hurt.
