Too little too late
They all stayed silent when it mattered. Now they’re speaking up when it’s probably too late, to make it look like they did something. Meanwhile ordinary folks have been outraged, protesting and asking governments to intervene for almost 2 years now. Actors like Melissa Barrera got kicked out of a movie, Rachel Zeigler wore the brunt for Snow White’s flopping.
For the record, three of the statements are not good (Bono and Larry both state Israel has the right to exist). However, HUGE shoutout to The Edge for not only being the only member to call what Israel is doing colonial genocide, but the only one to call for a one state solution – or as he put it, “a shared state between Palestinians and Israelis”

On one hand, I think it’s good that more people are speaking up and seeing the genocide for what it really is. A genocide.
But on the other hand, a part of me is also angry that it took them two years to see what was obvious to the rest of us. Like if Beyonce and Taylor say something now about the thousands of dead babies that were bombed, starved and shot at, I’d be more angry than happy and I don’t want to be like that. It’s just frustrating that it’s taking so long and so many deaths had to happen for people to suddenly have a heart and even that heart has to start by saying “Israel has a right to exist” or “Oct 7 was the worst day ever.”
I’m mostly angry that I’ve been witnessing a genocide and can’t do anything about it. I feel useless.
Edit: Bono’s statement is full of pretentious nonsense that I can continue being angry at his silence and his wrong views. He may wish for things to be better for Palestinians, but it’s clear that he views them as lesser than the people of Israel.

Bono is fucking hated in Ireland for post hoc grandstanding like this. Bands like Lankum, Black Country New Roads and Mogwai all held a festival over a year ago headlined by Lankum and the band non stop took shots at Bono and called out his fealty to Israel.
Ukraine was invaded and he went there to sing in a metro that achieved absolutely nothing and now he’s doing the same. I swear he’s one week away from doing another version of “Do They Know It’s Christmas Time” because he thinks it’ll make him liked again.
