Interview with Eva Longoria on “Necaxa”

Football in Mexico is a language. [Music] In Naka, Eva Longoria is learning a whole new language, sports ownership. She invested in Club Nikka, one of Mexico’s oldest and most storied soccer teams, and their journey will be seen in this new FX series. You’re going to fall in love with these players. You’re going to fall in love with our characters, the the technical team, the coaches. You can’t write the emotion and the drama in scripted that you get with a a Verete docu series in sports. It’s like the stakes are so high every week because every game matters. Eva had reservations on whether she would be accepted by fans and by the team. I’m Mexican American and I’m Mexican through and through in my culture. Uh but I am American by nationalities and then I was a woman in a man’s sport. So yeah, there was a lot of anxiety but they received me with open arms and they’ve given me a nickname, La Patrona. Um so once you get a nickname in Mexico, you’re you’re pretty much in. La patrona in Spanish means the boss and Eva took that job seriously. She brought in a couple of guys who know a thing or two about lifting a team and a town to new heights. We’re very excited to join in, not to tell our story, but to be part of the Noxa story. Yep. Rob Mack and Ryan Reynolds, who are the co-chairs of Rex and the creators of Welcome to Rexum are also investors in Naka. They bring so much passion and hope. I mean, what they did with Rexum was really impressive because they’re great storytellers. In Mexico, Naka is already in the big leagues. They’re trying to hold on to this glory and legacy and live up to that legacy that Naka has as a club. And so to return to those glory days is is the journey that we tell in the series. for on the red carpet. Ashley Mackey
