Elaine Hendrix gushes over reuniting with ‘Parent Trap’ co-star Lindsay Lohan in ‘Freakier Friday’
I love Lindsay so much and we had such a special experience together. You know, none of us could have predicted what The Parent Trap became. All we knew was that we were on this very beautiful, lavish movie set playing these incredible characters in this very beloved story because, you know, we were a remake. Um, so this very beloved story. My mom growing up wanted to be Haley Mills. So I was very familiar with the Parent Trap universe. And so we, you know, we had that experience together. And now all this time, like it’s followed all of us with so much love and energy and joy from people of all walks of life still. So, you know, that’s um that’s a rare thing in this industry and again, we couldn’t have predicted it. So, the fact that we got to do it together and now here we are, you know, all these years later, still in the business, still reuniting with one another, and now, you know, doing so. She was a kid, now we’re both adults, and we’re staying in touch, and we’re in different places in each in both of our lives. The whole thing just makes for one I think magical soup. It was so sweet because um you know the night in my so from my point of view right the night was about Lindsay and in coming back into the freakier f the freaky Friday world through freakier Friday. And so it was really like I didn’t I I I we think like because there is so much love for the parent trap like I’m sure people would want that but I also didn’t want it to like take a take anything away from what she was experiencing that night. So and Lisa came as my date cuz she’s my bestie. And so you know we’re just on the carpet doing our thing and the next thing I know someone’s saying hey we want to do a photo with the two of you and Lindsay. And we were like okay. And then we went and then next thing you know we’re breaking the internet and oh my gosh. So I just it again it was like it was really sweet and very special.
Fast forward 27 years, “The Parent Trap’s” Elaine Hendrix and Lindsay Lohan are reuniting on-screen — this time, in another body-swapping twist.
Lohan, 39, returns as Anna Coleman in “Freakier Friday,” the sequel to the 2003 Disney hit “Freaky Friday.” Jamie Lee Curtis and Chad Michael Murray also reprise their roles as Tess Coleman and Jake, respectively.
Hendrix, for her part, makes a cameo as Blake Kale, Anna’s editor at Rolling Stone.
