Reese Witherspoon Gives Tearful Insight Into Raising Kids in Hollywood | E! News

Reese Witherspoon reveals the toll of being a working mom in Hollywood. The Oscar winner posts a new Instagram carousel where she gets candid about the balance of career and motherhood in the spotlight. Sharing a photo of herself with all three of her kids, including son Deacon and daughter Ava, whom she shares with her ex Ryan Philippy and son Tennessee, whom she shares with ex Jim Toth. The actress captions the pic, “Someone asked me what raising three kids and building a career in Hollywood looked like.” Posting throwback photos, the Big Little Lie star shares, “It looked like spending a lot of time in trailers together,” adding, “It looked like always being on the road together.” She jokes, “It looked like my kids constantly giving me career advice,” revealing that son Deacon once alerted her that she had accidentally quote butt dialed an Instagram live. Reese then opens up about her challenging days, saying, “It looked really hard. Sometimes I’d cry working 14 to 17 hours, sometimes all night long, and still woke up early for car poolool. I was deliriously tired.” Sharing a pic on set with son Deacon, who’s now 21, she says, “It looked like trying to say something positive about work when I got home at night so that my kids would know that my work was meaningful to me and could be fun.” Ending her post with a shot of her and daughter Ava, who’s now 25, Reese writes, “In conclusion, even though it was challenging at times, having kids gave me perspective about what was important in life.
